Board 8 > Which of these (American) February holidays do you like most?

And to those who aren't American, what do you think of these? Since, to my knowledge, Valentine's Day is the only one of these celebrated elsewhere (though Lent is still a thing in other places, maybe?).

I ask because while none of these grant a day off from work or anything, they still produce different celebrative events. Which do you like best?

And before you accuse me of being a bandwagoner, I've lived in Massachusetts all my life, currently about 15 minutes from Gilette Stadium, and went to my first Pats game when I was 6, years before Brady was on the team.

I hate the Cheatriots because they don't play by the rules and get away with it on a constant basis.

I never accuse anyone of being a bandwagoner. I just hate the Cheatriots more than any other entity in professional sports and the way the NFL allows them to get away with everything but murder sickens me to the point that I'm no longer watching ANY games.

It's a federal holiday. Schools definitely get it off, as do government agencies, banks, etc.

1. SpyGate. That is 100% illegal and gave them an unfair advantage. And don't give me the "everybody does it" crap. How come only one team - and their cronies (i.e. McDaniels) - was caught doing it?
2. DeflateGate. If it doesn't give them an advantage, why would they tamper with playing equipment? It allowed the Cheatriots to grip the balls more tightly, preventing fumbles.
3. Referee bribery this year, to create fake penalties against the Jaguars, as proven by the refs celebrating with their teammates.

Why do you Cheaters fans deny the obvious? It's a major reason why 31 NFL fanbases despise yours.

i've always had President's Day off for school. we even got the second Monday of Feb off for Lincoln's birthday and even when they nixed that we still got that day off and they cited Staff Development days or whatnot

We have a pretty sizable Polish population in Northeast Ohio, so there's a tradition up here. Mardi Gras is the day for paczkis, which are a lot like donuts except that they use (or are supposed to use) lard. They're tasty.

Not true. I get New Years' Eve + Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve + Day off. I also happen to work for the State.

And I never got off that day for any level of schooling. So I'm confused.

I live in PA and we have Fasnacht Day which is a Dutch tradition that's basically the same thing (day for fasnachts, which are basically sugary lard donuts)

But President's Day has not been a day off for the entirety of my memory. It is simply another Monday.
