Now, if I was in Toronto I would stand for their anthem. I wouldn't salute or be reverent to the flag, but at least stand for it.

But as an American citizen in the state of Indiana I'm not standing for their anthem. It means nothing nor is it about us.

Now, if it was say the world baseball classic or I was at the Olympics that would be different. It's an actual international competition. You are representing your county directly.

I was typing my post during this... so I had already responded to what you said.

Visiting their country or international competition would be exceptions.

Except Russia or China. Both have cheated far too much in international completions and therefore I would not even stand for their worthless shit at the Olynpics.

I respect sports more than some lives..., I'm gonna assume Pence doesn't. Country is grwT and all, but if someone beats you fairly in competition, you give them props and respect.

The Canadians for instance would force me to stand for their anthem because they beat our ass in curling fair.

The artist could have gone with ocean waves in the background instead of flowers so it'd be a better color and a little less busy, but then that could have included the BP oil spill.

...Basically if we believe this video, it turns out that the third most powerful politician in Russia (Deputy Prime Minister) was on board the yacht with Deripaska during the second half of 2016. (Always hiding below decks when they came to port).

Also Russia is considering blocking the entire domains of Youtube and Instagram to block this information from getting out.

The New York Democrat, speaking in a video she tweeted, said she made her decision "because of the corrosive effect of corporate money in politics."

Gillibrand, who is up for re-election this year, said one reason shes concerned about money in politics is the Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United vs. FEC. The 2010 decision helped pave the way for super PACs that may spend unlimited money in support of candidates as long as the political action committees operate independently of political campaigns.

We have a system where corporations can spend unlimited money that isn't even disclosed so there's no transparency, she said.

Gillibrand has received more than $1 million in PAC contributions between 2013 and 2018, with more than 68% from business groups, 7% from labor and more than 24% from ideological groups, according to a Center for Responsive Politics analysis of Federal Election Commission data.

BUZZFEED - The Education Department Officially Says It Will Reject Transgender Student Bathroom Complaints

Finally on Thursday, Liz Hill, a spokesperson for the agency, responded yes, thats what the law says when asked again if the Education Department holds a current position that restroom complaints from transgender students are not covered by a 1972 federal civil rights law called Title IX.

Asked for further explanation on the departments position, Hill said Friday, Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, not gender identity.

She added that certain types of transgender complaints may be investigated but not bathroom complaints.

Where students, including transgender students, are penalized or harassed for failing to conform to sex-based stereotypes, that is sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX, Hill said. In the case of bathrooms, however, long-standing regulations provide that separating facilities on the basis of sex is not a form of discrimination prohibited by Title IX.
