i think crafted gear is even less likely to sell than usual at the start of an expansion - because it's the only time an ex trial gives 580 accesories, so non-hardcores only need to buy left-side... and in 3 weeks you can already have gotten 4 left-side pieces from normal raids!

yeah, MCH doesn't like skill speed either, but it's not completely worthless like it is on dancer.

in shadowbringers it was actively bad because it caused drill disalignment and heat shot phase during burst was fixed to 1.5s GCD

not sure how much they fixed for endwalker but it was absolutely a literal dead stat before to the point where it was better to wear lower item level gear if your new piece had big sks on it

In a consistent rotation, I assume the purpose of Paradox during your Ice Phase is just damage? Typically you don't need to refresh Ice.

I guess it also gives you time to fullcast T3 and get out a double Glossy before moving to Fire if needed?

In general, this is very similar to the single target rotation from ShB BLM. The main change is the addition of Paradox, which serves as an additional filler spell for Umbral Ice, as well as replacing the Fire cast in your Astral Fire cycle.
With the Paradox in Umbral Ice for filler, there is full flexibility with both Thunder III and Xenoglossy usage. Use Thunder III when the DoT is falling off, use Xenoglossy for movement/weaving (or just generally before overcapping on Polyglot stacks). As before, you have leeway to fit an extra cast on both halves of your Astral Fire cycle, to facilitate Thunder III and Xenoglossy usage as needed.

and yeah, that's the other thing, dancer gets better as everyone else gets better. i mean, bard does too now more than before though, right? so, we'll see. but i heard that's the reason dancer always starts a bit weaker and gets stronger every week.

I think more of Bard's rDPS is in party buffs now than before, proportionally speaking due to the stat squish, but that said I think it's flatter than Dancer's. Devilment boosting crit rate benefits a lot from the partner getting better and stacking crit. Battle Voice is extremely good but direct hits don't scale as hard. Radiant Finale is also very good but is mitigated by only being 2% in the opener (I think we are supposed to pot at 2 minutes now, though?). I have no idea though, we will see.

Honestly I think it's very odd that Bard's rDPS is comparable to or better than Dancer's in this way. I feel like an asshole complaining about Bard because numbers-wise it's in a great spot and it flows pretty smoothly. My issues boil down to 1) ranged balance and design seems haphazard as a whole and 2) it feels genuinely awful that it's optimal to spend less time in Mage's Ballad. also 3) aoe/multitarget is boring now but I won't rehash that

Leveling Dancer or Dragoon next, will go with whatever the first person to answer tells me to do.

So it turns out it buffs wildfire, autos, and queen after all which means there are some "efficient" skill speed tiers for MCH. However if you can't naturally arrive at them it's wasted, and due to misalignment and heat management you mentioned it results in an all-or-nothing scenario. The jury is still out but 2.5 gcd is generally assumed to be best.

I think the most consistent moneymaker was hawking base mats early.

Otherwise you had to be one of the lucky very first people selling things for millions before the prices tanked.

Could have definitely sold the mats instantly for all of those items for about those prices or more.

Nope, as far as thoroughput(damage) it still ranks at the bottom.

The Balance WHM discord is telling people to go Crit>Pie>Det=SS but screw them.

Hmm Ive never healed any serious content, but I always thought the priority was Crit > DH > Det > SpS > Piety with DH doing nothing for your heals and therefore less valuable for prog

Det has always sucked, DHit has been growing less useful every tier.

I bought 100 alchemical charcoal with my capped tomes when it was at 20k a few hours ago and only one of my 10 stacks sold. It's already down to 10k (with the drop from 12k-->10k coming because somebody listed a one stack with a 2k undercut and idiots followed it down)

I make like 700k selling Thavnarian Thread today, and around another 1 million just selling extra tier IX combat materia and folklore mats.

Selling Materia and purple/Aphorism mats today netted me 3.2 mil. Lost 500k trying to craft something.

I'm just gonna stick to mat selling ever patch lol.

det was good before and got buffed for endwalker, it's generally the second stat every healer aims for after hitting their desired piety/skill speed thresholds

whm in particular is in a weird spot compared to the other healers because the amount of mana they're spending on glares has increased due to the presence of mind buff and thin air nerf; added to the fact that if gcd healing is ever going to be necessary by fight design or gear limitations the whm is gonna cast it over the sage/scholar. the class does have legit mana concerns

it's gonna depend on how healing heavy the fights are but it's a valid concern for whm prog right now

Last tier we were hitting some crazy spellspeed threshold if I recall, as we switched from melding Crit/Dhit to mostly Crit/SSpeed.

Theres a few SS things to hit this tier too but most of the recommended sets are going Pie. But you don't need the Pie unless you fail to hit Lucid on CD and need to res people without Thin Air.

yeah, det's been buffed, lots of jobs want it now as their 2nd behind crit.

last i checked balance, they were tealing healers crit > dh=det

maybe it's changed with this patch and the new gearing options, idk

Yeah, Det is more useful now, but you'd like something besides that when the other substat is Piety

yep, today was a good day for making gil. i didn't go crazy since i haven't had a super high need to spend. made about a million offloading a few hundred aphorism and selling ore from labyrinthos

gave the first savage a solid effort. it's fun enough, but running content like that before the guides exist requires a lot of energy! really entertaining when different party members have different guesses as to how mechanics work. this was also my first fight where i was explicitly required to superbolide!

Phew, the aphorism mats I bought rebounded a little and I was able to sell them all for over 10k each. Probably made about 3M today. Not amazing and I'm sure I could've made at least five times that if I had prepped and played all day specifically trying to make money, but 3M for minimal effort in one day is still pretty solid.

i feel kinda bad too because i know what to expect (told myself i'd buy and flip a lot of 5/7/9 materia a week before the patch because its free money) from new raid tiers and i didn't prepare but on the flip side:

my time at portia is a very fun game. friend gave it to me right before savage patch. i probably lost a couple million gil not cornering the market at the right time (people make crafter V materia go for like 5x its price for a while because of The Balance/Teamcraft's guide on minimum stat melding. 5's were cheaper than 7's by like 5x for a while today(for the melding/crafting uninitiated: you can use 5/7/9's on any overmelds. so if a higher tier is cheaper... that almost goes against common sense, but people were melding to the specific list and didn't know common sense)) but man, the mayor's daughter is kinda cute

You just, I'm just gonna say it...I think ability icons for Sage need a passover. This is just too much nearly identical shit. Every Healer has this problem to some degree, but it's REAL bad here.

i really don't know. i mean, the gear i sold (about 10 pieces) totaled up to around 3.5MIL.

that's with spending only a couple hours making it, between having to also craft my own personal set, get 450 tomestones, and go raid in the afternoon, but even if i had more time, i'd have been limited by tomestone mats and had to buy them off the marketboard to craft more

honestly i think selling the tomestone mats was more efficient than selling gear, they were going for a lot

you could've made a bit more if you spent all 2000 tomes on this and sold twice what i did, but 15mil, from crafted gear? i'm not sure.

lol, i noticed the same thing when i was melding my set. Vs going for like 20k each, and then VIIs, or even IXs sometimes, going for half that! crazy how people just follow the list blindly without knowing how it actually works.

and yeah, materia flipping was... something. those direct hit IXs i sold for 25k? they were all bought for 5k or less two weeks ago

the annoying thing though is that on my server, crit IX dropped down to like 4k halfway through the day -_- it eventually went back up a bit to like 7k but man, what a waste, i had like 400 of those to sell

Anima/zodiac weapon materials if you care about those

yeah you definitely aren't making money off poetics

stocking up on anima mats lets you blaze through it really fast if you ever decide to do it

if you love gachas you can trade the poetics in for eq and trade those in for GC seals to buy lootboxes, i don't advise this though
