I dont like how the start of the WAR aoe combo is a cone

Brother I've been saying that since my first dungeon pull. It's single handily putting WAR down on my perferred tanks at this point.

Any AoE that require you to target is garbage.

Yay it goes back on sale on the 25th.

Didn't predict that I'd be controlling Alphinaud during a duty, that was definitely different.

Warriors can't have it all their own way! They already have the best invuln, the best sustain (as long as they have a target to hit), solid damage and arguably the best array of mitigation after all. Plus Bloodwhetting is downright absurd.

How is Holmgang better than Hallowed Ground?

Then you gotta adjust the numbers! Numbers can't make up for mechanical issues, you gotta fix mechanical issues. See: Summoner

Cone aoes are fine and occasionally better than circles! Just adjust!

Fun fact, Overpower is actually a triangle and not a cone! If you stand exactly 8 yalms away from a training dummy and hit Overpower, the game will activate the attack, the animation, and the GCD, but your attack won't actually hit the dummy.

I'd argue Living Dead is the best invuln when coordinated (if there's an ast or whm) and Hollowed Ground is the best for stuff like expert roulettes, but Holmgang is a very close second in that first category. It's wild that it lasts 10s now and you can cast it on yourself. It used to be pretty rough to use it to defend against stuff like mountain buster.

Living Dead is the worst tank invuln and there's really no way to argue otherwise. It's the only tank mitigation ability that can kill you even if you use it correctly, it has a longer cooldown than Holmgang for no real reason anymore, it has no true invincibility, and it absolutely requires an investment of healer resources. If DRK had even the slightest amount of self-healing it might not be so bad, but DRK being unable to make any meaningful progress in healing itself makes Living Dead awful to deal with.

That's why I said it's only good in organized settings! Benediction/macrocosmos solve the issue with one button, and you get slightly longer invuln time than holmgang because the 10 second duration only begins when the tankbuster hits, not when LD is pressed. Timing LD is trivial and consistent, too.

The cooldown should absolutely be shorter though, yeah. And LD is absolute garbage outside of organized settings; in dungeon roulettes its only real use is to delay your wipe by 10 seconds after your healer runs out of buttons to press and mana to burn.

Even with organization I still think it's Holmgang. The argument is what, that LD gives you ~10-20s of free healer DPS time for only one healer cooldown? WAR has so much self-healing that it's constantly reducing healer load in a different way TBN doesn't compete with, and sometimes doesn't even need much help recovering from Holmgang. The shorter cooldown on Holmgang lets you cheese things more frequently - two tiers ago a WAR MT could absolutely demolish E8S for example, deleting every tank swap and eating some Ahk Morns too.

I think I would have argued for Living Dead a few expacs ago, but at least since Shadowbringers WAR has been really stupid

Ok but Warrior's other abilities are what lets it heal itself to full from 1 which is a pretty big deal! If you're including Benediction as part of LD I don't think you can ignore this.

I'm not ignoring it, Living Dead is a situationally great ability on a very badly balanced class. Even if you want invulns right now you wouldn't willingly bring a DRK because the rest of the kit is subpar.

Three of the four tanks benefit from benediction when using their invulns. WAR doesn't need it but it's the best possible use of Benediction anyways.

But if the WAR is able to free up a use elsewhere to use on something that isn't the tank invuln, that's still a point in its favor. If you can gain another use of Bene over the fight that's a different kind of efficiency.

The WAR also can use those self heals elsewhere just as well, though. It's not like Benediction is particularly special outside of healing more the lower the target's HP is.

No, but another use is another use. It's free healing. And the fact that you can use either Bene or WAR's own heals is another point of flexibility for it.

Look, I'm more than willing to admit that DRK's effect is better in a vacuum and Holmgang is only better because Warrior has busted healing and fights are more favorable to its shorter cooldown, but game mechanics have context!

That's my favorite mini game in any P3S group - asking "Can we count?" when we reach Darkened Fires for the first time.

i randomly popped into pagos today, and casually got three different hakutaku eyes. thats almost an ohat! (one i didn't get was the cheapo one from coldboxes)

Got Ninja to cap so I could finally getting my Scouting Tomestone armor set to a gearset and not worry about it.

I just...don't like the new stuff? I'm not saying it's bad, I just don't like doing it.

P3S adds phase seems to be a huge DPS check wall for Party Finder atm. And if I wait for people to get more gear all the more skilled players will be getting clears in the meantime. The classic PF catch-22.

Finished patches 4.4, 4.5 and 4.55, just made it into Shadowbringers (5.0)!!

Man there were a LOT of cutscenes/story progression in those patches. Mostly enjoyed it! Seeing Gaius alive again was definitely a surprise.

Also, Alisaie is definitely atop my scion rankings currently (Tataru is an independent, and also amazing). If anything happens to her while in her sleep state thing, I will riot!

Thanks! Still need a few more poetics to get the last i400 gear (bracelet I think), and a few more SB quests to finish up, but going to start the MSQ at least a bit!

Ok I've seen people fail add phase because 3 dps go to one side. Or someone dies to tether. Or you enter the phase with someone dead. I have never seen a pf fail the dps check when everyone is doing it properly. Would be a big oof

If anything, pf is terrible at gloryplume spreads. Got my clear with the good rng of getting mostly stacks especially during tornado kb and the end.

Love the new area so far, seems super cool. I called the warrior of darkness showing up, though not exactly in the manner it happened. The time flow thing was pretty cool to learn about to.

I still have at least 3 or 4 things to go back and do, not even including the SB raids (and starting and finishing the HW raids lol), but I dont want to stop the MSQ right now!

A lot of that is involved, but I've seen things you wouldn't believe. Even when everyone lives it's generally pretty tight. A lot of times I've seen the big add ghost the enrage for a last minute pass. Maybe this can be chalked up to people not knowing the mechanics well enough to hit adds while positioning, but there's a lot of issues.

Question: If I quesnfir a roulette at, say, 9:50 AM when it says I've already received my daily, and finish it after 10 AM after the rest, does that count for the new day?

Yes.
If you complete the duty after reset, you'll get the new day's reward.

They don't do AoE so it takes forever. No reward either. It's really just if your queue is so insane that the extra 10 minutes it takes to complete will still be faster than waiting...so really just for DPS jobs.

Its for people who dont want to play with other people. Its considerably slower than a DF run (itll rubberband NPC damage to ensure your run isnt much faster than 30 minutes). It does give some unique dialogue though, and the NPCs will typically do the mechanics correctly so its another way to teach players those.

There is unique dialogue in all the MSQ Endwalker trusts unfortunately. So it makes those a near necessity for people that hate missing out on things

Anyways I usually use them if I wanna farm glamour without fighting people for it. Mostly in the L75 one, if I'm honest.

A title achievement. There's no real reward.

Glam farming you can do with scenario trusts, so that doesn't require leveling them manually.

levelling them to 80 and 90 caps unlocks an alternate appearance, which is kinda neato

I thought Trusts were better in EW than ShB. Or at least didn't feel as slow. Might just be me.

I've started leveling mine and the 81 dungeon at least is definitely not feeling any less painful to grind through...
