I think it's basically impossible it ends up as only a deferral if jobs take it out. But, jobs aren't gonna probably take it out without more confidence it won't be just one also.

Even if it's just a deferral, I'd much rather pay it in 2021 than 2020. And I don't think there's any way it can be a deferral and also taxable income. At worst, they would figure some rate of reasonable interest and consider the waived interest from the EO as income from forgiveness of debt. But for an average deferral period of just 2 months, we are probably talking about income taxes on the order of $5. Like, one coffee at Starbucks.

And I don't think it would just be a deferral. Whoever is in charge in 2021 is going to be under severe pressure to forgive it.

Disagree. I think it is actually sexist and racist to say that he is specifically limiting his search to a woman and a woman of color. He should be looking for the best person for the job regardless of race or sex. If it happens to be a woman of color then that is great. We shouldn't be putting people up on a pedestal above possibly better candidates just because they are a certain characteristic.

That said, VPs being done this way isn't particularly new as Presidential candidates pick their candidate moreso on what voters they can bring them rather than their ability to do the best job.

There is a real dearth of polls there. The last one that isn't a partisan poll was foxnews at +13 for Biden.

+2 Biden and +3 for the incumbent senator there isn't too great. Granted could be outliers but still.

With that latest Minnesota poll, Minnesota is now closer than Michigan, Wisconsin, or Pennsylvania according to the 538 polling averages. It is even with Florida, right now actually. Biden at +5.5 in both.

There actually have been a lot of polls within the past month or so showing it hovering at the +5 range. Plenty with bigger margins, sure, but this isn't the first close poll there.

The Big Ten (one of the 5 big college football conferences; includes Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc.) just cancelled the fall season with their new plan to try and play in the spring.

Probably the end of college football for the fall. A few smaller conferences had already done this but this was the first Power 5 Conference to do so. Another one, the Pac-12, is actually in a meeting right now about the same issue.

Honestly my strongest feeling about Harris as the running mate in any direction is that I have a feeling I'd rather have her as AG than VP? But meh.

Harris never struck me as a very genuine person during the debates. It always felt like she was trying too hard to deliver a debate-winning sound byte at the cost of displaying actual mastery of the topics being debated. Also a literal former district attorney as VP does not instill me with confidence that police reform will be addressed is a meaningful way.

But I hope she proves me wrong and Biden/Harris is still significantly more palatable than Trump/Pence so it's not like my vote was in actual jeopardy.

Because after the debates when Stephen Colbert interviewed her and asked why she endorsed him after going in so hard on his policies, she laughed and told him it's a debate, that's what you do!

So basically, there's never a single reason to believe a thing she says.
