I went to make an appointment for my hand, and was told that the local hospitals are so overbooked that theyve taken up space at my hand doctors (and other doctors) location, so I wouldnt be able to be seen for months. Yet another consequence of not flattening the curve.

Yes. I dont believe all the people with the virus need to be hospitalized which is the consequence I am talking about. The fear-mongering is hurting our hospitals which is in turn preventing people from getting treated for other illnesses or injuries.

Hospitals don't admit people for merely having coronavirus. They have to have symptoms warranting admittance.

Believe me, they dont all need to be in there.

FYI, as Im sure you worrywarts know, Tom Hanks and his wife were both in the hospital for four or five days. Do you honestly believe that they would have died otherwise? The obvious answer is no, and Im sure your retort would shift from you dont know more than the doctors to you cant expect to know everyone who will die ahead of time and turn away the rest or some other nonsense. The point is, this has gotten out of hand and it has been for awhile.

I dont. I believe that many doctors are not properly screening every single infectee, either due to the infectees fame, money, etc. or because they feel bad turning away people. Tom Hanks and wife being two examples.

Is there a way to know ahead of time every single patient that needs to be hospitalized (i.e., those who would die or suffer permanent damage if left untreated)? Of course not. I recognize that, obviously (or not obviously to you guys who are way too quick on the draw to cry lack of sensitivity), but what Im saying is that there exists a significant percentage of people in the hospital who do not need to be there.

Could you imagine if every single person who started coughing, had a sore throat, felt fatigue, etc. went to the hospital? Well you dont have to imagine because thats precisely whats happening. Even the people who are being turned away are still occupying hospitals time. Furthermore, no wonder much outcry is happening over this illness its being broadcasted 24/7. Imagine if they broadcasted the exact number of automobile deaths, or cancer deaths, etc. nonstop? Of course that would grab your attention.

This is a serious illness, theres no doubt about that. But the obsession is furthering its damage, and whats even more sickening are the people like in this topic who jump to name calling and dismissing when someone has a different point of view. At least when I do it its sarcastic. Shameful, really.

Well, that is precisely why they are refusing to test everyone. They would be bogged down on people being worried than focusing on the actual people that need help.

I agree. But such was not, and is not, the case with everyone. Unfortunately, there will always be people trickling in who dont deserve to be there. For example, theres currently much grievance against the athletes and famous people for having access to test kits and whatnot compared to the layperson.

You can ABSOLUTELY prevent automobile accidents. Its called Safe driving and driving when mentally and physically able.

Most car accidents happen because one or both drivers perform a careless action or are in a state where they shouldnt have been driving.
