For a country with 65 million people losing 6k isnt really as earth shattering as everyone is making it out to be. Like its definitely sad but the country is fine once this blows over

Dont get alarmed btw, this is a fear mongering story because the ship was still crewed during this time. It wasn't unmanned.

I thought I read somewhere that Chicago has actually lost less lives than usual due to the coronavirus outbreak, I'm assuming due to the decreases inner city violence.

Lots of trauma cases are decreasing. Fewer people driving means fewer pedestrians struck and fewer car accidents. People aren't getting shot as frequently... on the streets, at least.

Domestic violence has increased though.

Maybe I should have said it so definitely. There are some regional/local news outlets who are reporting on stories about this, but no, there are no official studies or anything to back up the claim.

i mean, "BUILD THE WALL" isn't exactly the same as "THERE'S A TERRIBLE PANDEMIC GOING ON AND I WANT ALL THE CHURCHES OPEN IN A FEW WEEKS." i can at least see the appeal of the former, even if i don't agree with it.
