They think the CFR is really like .5% and much larger portions of the population have been infected to get these numbers. We are missing asymptomatic and recovered at homes a lot in their projections and even in the negative results.

A thing with Italy that I've wondered about is if the more recent surge came from the lockdown itself. You have more people living in multi-generational homes, so a lockdown forces them into closer quarters with the younger generations possibly being infected without knowing. So being quarantined together virtually ensures the older generations get infected.

Not to say the lockdown is bad, I still agree with the decision. But it should have happened earlier.

Could it also just be a case of their health system finally being overwhelmed and that starting to show in the numbers? Not like people are recovering quicker than new cases are showing up.

Social media lighting up with supposedly 2 confirmed cases in a town over from ours (and where most of my family lives). Said to be 2 people in a family. Multiple people corroborate it and say the family is petrified, but no names stated. Torn between bullshit and real.

I'm Canadian, so it doesn't matter what I think, but I'm not ready to be pissed off at Trump unless he actually pushes to jumpstart business as usual before it's appropriate. As it stands I think it's been less of a meltdown than it could have been, although admittedly I have the benefit of distance.

She literally invited 4 people over the house the other day to party with. Keeps going to her families houses almost every single day. These are people who work in grocery stores, care homes, and other stores.

I stated today you need to stop making excuses to hang out with people before you kill someone. She said, "I am going to have a social life. I don't care what you say."

Like, I don't get it.

My aunt and grandmother said they are on lockdown for the entire duration. They aren't going anywhere at all. Then told me they are having 25 people over for Easter dinner. What?

My cousin is petrified by the virus supposedly. Won't even let his mother see her grandson because he is afraid of the virus getting to his son. Asked someone to watch his kid the other day so he and his girlfriend could go to a poker gathering to drink and play cards? What?

Like, I think people have literally no understanding of what social distancing actually means.
