Trophies have consumed me. I have not bought games I've been marginally interested in because I looked at their trophy lists and deemed it wasn't worth it. For some games that I really want to play with platinum trophies I know I won't get, I'll just play the game normally, but for others I often base my entire experience on the optimal ways to earn trophies.

It has also made it very difficult to play games without trophies. There are games I got for free on PC that I would still rather buy on PS4 so that I can get the trophies. Sometimes when I want to play my Switch I think, "but there aren't any trophies", so instead of diving into that backlog I just move on to the next PS4 game.

I am addicted.

Star Wars turned into a pretty good game after they fixed the grind and added a bunch of stuff. It's been a long time since I played it but I'll probably hop back in to check out some of what was added.

I'm in Europe right now as well, so I couldn't even take advantage of this even if they did allow fans which is absolutely not happening.

Yeah, not sure how I feel about all this. On one hand I want more sports, but on the other this feels so late. We aren't going to get any games until August at this point, which is just going to delay the next season even more. I'd rather call it a wash and literally wait one extra month for normally scheduled hockey in September.

The draft lottery, draft, and free agency can hold me over until then.

In terms of the format here, this is shaping up to theoretically be the hardest cup to win ever considering the amount of games to be played and the position these teams are in. I'm sure that won't stop every fan of every team that doesn't win from saying it doesn't count, of course. It would absolutely be a Leafs thing to finally end the drought with no fans, no parade, no celebration, and in a way which other fans will doubt the legitimacy of.

I also can't wait for one of the Penguins or Oilers to get the first pick because the hockey gods hate us all.

I would have been fine with taking the top 16 teams as well, which is easy to say when my team is in that group. The Blackhawks, Habs, and Wild shouldn't be rewarded for being mediocre and straight up bad, and the Coyotes scored like 11 goals over the course of the entire season, no one wants to see them play playoff hockey.

I'm not sure what's happening, my dad is going to call me in a few hours.

I do know that he had to take him to an emergency vet where it cost him $500 just to get in and then another $1000 to put him down, which is crazy.

They wanted $6000 to put him in the ICU with a small chance of survival. He had a fluid build up in his lungs and collapsed yesterday due to excitement because the family was having a BBQ.

He was old and lived a good life.

I'm not even in the country as I decided to spend some time abroad in Europe (only to be stuck in quarantine anyway), so I couldn't be there at the end and won't be there for the aftermath. It's really weird, maybe it's because I'm not physically there that it isn't affecting me so much? It not being tangible in front of me and instead being thousands of kilometres away makes it seem almost not real and it hasn't really hit me yet. My dad messaged me this morning explaining that he's been up all night, and I almost feel guilty for currently not feeling as distraught as some of the other family members are back in Canada.

I did see him last week on a video call with my dad, so that's good I guess. It's crazy because my dog was kind of an asshole in a lovable way. He was a troublemaker because my dad didn't exactly train him the best, but he was good to people he knew. That was kind of the sentiment from the whole family and yet here we are incredibly upset about his passing.

Each girl has like 6 or 7 of those lessons and then after that I don't think you can do them again. Although there is a 'review session' option when you talk to the girls after finishing their training so maybe you can do it again?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I was able to fully finish the mini-game with only one or two of my girls at max level, and and even then it was incredibly easy at that level. You can get away with much less.

It's weird because sometimes I'll take it out of rest mode and everything is good to go instantly, and other times it's how I described it in the first post. I'm not doing anything different, either.

When I made the topic I had to wait five minutes for Gamefaqs to be fully functional and quick, but just now I took it out of rest mode, immediately clicked Chrome, and was ready to go.

I don't know anything about computers. Sometimes when I restart my laptop, and more egregiously when I take it off of sleep mode, which is what I usually have it on, it'll take upwards of and over five minutes just to be able to reliably use any app or program, including Chrome, which seems insane.

I can understand when I first restart the computer because everything needs to load on startup, so I've made it so only the essential programs load when I turn on the computer to minimize the time needed to wait.

What I don't understand is why it takes forever for anything to work when the computer is already on and nothing needs to startup. It's only a few years old and I am very minimalist when it comes to stuff that I have installed on it.

It came out just before I was born, which isn't really an excuse since I grew up with the SNES and Genesis despite them being multiple years before my time, so it's definitely a case of it just being a horrible failure.

I'm sure people who were in their early teens back then are probably more aware of it though, purely from being around when (or if) there was marketing and being in the gaming scene.

Eh? I'm sure almost no one here has seen a 3DO in real life. It's the console that's making the case against this contest since it's well known enough to be in the field, but would almost certainly be worse fodder than anything we saw in GotD2.

Looking back now you're right. I'm at work so I briefly skimmed and saw some 3DO talk. I have no idea what a 3DO even is though, so I think my point stands in terms of the age gap being apparent.

I love 7/11 food but I wouldn't really consider it gas station food since there are more stand-alone 7/11's than gas station ones in Toronto.

Actual gas station food is gross.

Bloodhound/Mirage/Loba seems like the optimal lineup right now. My two buddies and I have had some monster games running these three.
