I don't know anything about computers. Sometimes when I restart my laptop, and more egregiously when I take it off of sleep mode, which is what I usually have it on, it'll take upwards of and over five minutes just to be able to reliably use any app or program, including Chrome, which seems insane.
I can understand when I first restart the computer because everything needs to load on startup, so I've made it so only the essential programs load when I turn on the computer to minimize the time needed to wait. What I don't understand is why it takes forever for anything to work when the computer is already on and nothing needs to startup. It's only a few years old and I am very minimalist when it comes to stuff that I have installed on it. --- I was the final Undisputed Champion in UCA history, but azuarc was our Guru Champion! ... It really depends. It could, but it could also be a number of other things. You'd probably want to run some sort of diagnostics to see what the bottleneck actually is. The Task Manager could be a good first step, see if any programs are causing any slowdowns.

It's weird because sometimes I'll take it out of rest mode and everything is good to go instantly, and other times it's how I described it in the first post. I'm not doing anything different, either.
When I made the topic I had to wait five minutes for Gamefaqs to be fully functional and quick, but just now I took it out of rest mode, immediately clicked Chrome, and was ready to go. --- I was the final Undisputed Champion in UCA history, but azuarc was our Guru Champion! ...
