Heading into today I was a 30 point favourite in my semi-final matchup, but thanks to a combination of Ebron disappearing, Cousins being bad, and Aaron Jones getting injured early, I am now projected to go even against a team that finished 6-7.

It took 15 weeks, but Cook is finally doing what I expected him to do when I drafted him in the 2nd round.

I think Rielly is a legit top 2 defenceman.

After that, you've got Gardiner, Dermott, and Zaitsev who can all be great on any given day but who often make terrible mistakes that make you think they don't know how to play hockey. Of those 3, I believe Dermott has the most room to grow and has the looks of a very good player.

Ozhiganov is new and hasn't looked awful, but the jury is still out there.

Hainsey should never step foot on the ice again and it actively makes me angry to see him.

I'm not sure any of the bottom 5 deserve to be anything other than a third-pairing D man. Again, Dermott has the potential to potentially slot into a top 4.

So the Steelers are coming off of a loss to the Raiders, have generally played poorly the last few weeks, are missing Conner, and Ben is going to be played with cracked ribs.

The Patriots are coming off of a last second debacle loss to Miami, are going to be pissed off, and are going to want to win to keep that first round bye in contention.

One of two outcomes happens here. Either the Steelers win because that seems like the outcome that makes the least sense given the above information and the Patriots seemingly only lose when the outcome is the one that makes the least sense, OR the Patriots win by two TDs and the game is over after the first quarter.

Those are the only possible scenarios as far as I'm concerned and they seem equally as likely.

I don't watch the Oilers so I'm not sure what's going on over there. Hitchcock seems to have had some sort of impact though.

Yeah, I'm not sure I believe Rantanen is as good as his numbers suggest, but this is now the second year where he's doing well and at some point we've got to accept that maybe he's just good.

For now though my fantasy team is enjoying his output.

Sabres suspend Berglund for failing to report. This falls in line with something you'd expect from the dumpster fire that was the 2011-2017 Sabres, but not so much the 2018 Sabres.

I should also say that I don't think an aging core is the only reason teams like Chicago and LA are bad, but it's a combination of having so much salary committed to that aging core and not enough resources to put meaningful pieces around them that is the issue.

I wouldn't consider average age to be a great indicator of a team at all, even when looking at age, because every team is going to have an outlier or two that either raises or lowers the average even though they aren't really impactful at all.

I would consider the Leafs a young team when Matthews, Marner, Nylander, and Reilly are all core plagers and 24 and under, with Tavares being in his prime at 27, but then you've got Marleau, who is nearly 40, and Hainsey in his late 30s bumping up that average. Marleau is a good player but I wouldn't put him at the top of the team's depth chart, and Hainsey is a bad player. Are the Leafs not a young team because of an inflated average age?

The Kings have some young guys on the team, but are they impactful at all? I feel like the average age of a team's 5 most impactful players would be a better indicator of "age", as that is what I'd consider a core.

Looks like quite a few people weren't feeling so good after that first issue. Really enjoying it so far!

I knew that this series started with the snap, but I always assumed it was the very first thing to happen, so I'm glad we got some background to explain why the snap happens and some of Thanos' motives before that big scene.
