The game definitely shows its age, but I really enjoyed the world and the characters that inhabit it. If this is really the worst of the 3 games then the next 2 games should be great!

Since I'll probably never read the books that preceded I went ahead and watched season 1 of the netflix show too so I look forward to Season 2 of that.

This one clocked in at about 60 hours, but Witcher 2 I understand is shorter. However, I got other things I need to play now before XenoblaDE hits so that probably won't be until after that game.

also the final boss reveal of The Grand Master being a time traveling Alvin who's dialogue changes based on the lessons you taught him as a kid was a nice twist.

The Witcher 2 is pretty short but has a choice about a third of the way in that branches the storyline. It should be pretty obvious what that choice is when you reach it so it's recommended to keep a save to play both branches. They are pretty wildly different and you can't get the full story without playing both.

I haven't looked, but I assumed The Witcher 2 had steam achievements anyway so I was probably going to try to get those as well.

I've already played 3 but I was thinking about going back and playing the first 2. I'm hoping they're able to go back to after playing the more polished version.

There are some old games that I am willing to play, but not MMORPG
I mean, if I want to play Skyrim, I don't think I could play TES1 and 2...

I recently played The Witcher and didn't really understand a lot of the criticism. Yes, the engine is pretty doo-doo and it definitely plays like an old game, but it's not at all as bad as I was dreading given people's complaints.

The middle part where you spend about 12 billion hours in the swamp can go suck it though.

it helps that when it comes to PC games I'm more into them when they're old and janky

after PC games just ended up being better looking console games I stopped caring as much

*technically I got a custom order English Mother 3 cart I'm saving for a replay after I finish all my GBA games.

also the PC version of Phantasy Star Online 2 is rumored to release by the end of the month so that'll also throw a wrench into everything if that happens

Still prefer to skip to 3 and just play that instead

Bruh witcher 1 is 2007. How is that old? Especially since this post implies Morrowind (2002) is not too old?
