Looks like she was always wrestling as a woman. Debuted in 2012 and got her first women's title in 2013.

Early Career
Born in Washington D.C., Rose attended the KYDA Pro Training School, trained in West Virginia. Her instructors included John Kerman, C.A. Elliott, Christian York and Xander Maddox. She made her in-ring debut on December 8, 2012. During her rookie year in August 2013, Rose won her first singles title after winning Covey Promotions' Women's Championship.

I'd like to point out, however, that Big E did have Roman beat twice in that match only for shenanigans to occur, and E didn't take the pin in that triple threat.
Who cares?

They clearly don't give a fuck about Big E. They couldn't even let the dude win one of his two matches on RAW and instead gave both wins to Roman, who doesn't need them.

Thinking this is them having any faith in Big E still is WWE brain worms.

I read up more on it. It sounds so unbelievable and it's such a shame coz they could've pulled the trigger on something great giving Balor the win there.
Bruh they're pushing Roman so hard they had him go to RAW to win two matches over the guy they hotshotted to the title.

Nobody is touching Roman until The Rock. And then they won't know wtf to do after that.

Big E's like the only guy I feel like in WWE who's had a natural progression throughout his career and not just immediately forced into a spot so happy to see him finally get to this point
Uh, I mean... he got his first singles title 8 years ago. Hung out with a tag team for the next seven years with success. Then he won the briefcase. Then he fought Apollo Crews for months, exclusively. Then he was on the pre-show at the second biggest PPV of the year in a nothing match. Then he cashed in on an injured and tired Lashley to beat him for the title, on a whim when ratings needed popped.

I dunno what you call this aside from forcing him into a spot arbitrarily? He certainly wasn't pushed as a main event guy at all before this.

First off, I forgot that Negasonic Teenage Warhead was a lesbian in that movie and I saw it twice.

Second, who cares if it's groundbreaking and meaningful? It should just be a regular thing they throw in there, if anything. It should be treated as normal and not something special. The Harley Quinn cartoon, for instance, does a great job of it without treating it like this groundbreaking thing.

what

Ok, what Im taking from this is that people just dont like her character, since there are many, many comic book characters who have appeared in more than *checks notes* three movies without anyone complaining they were overplayed.
For me, I don't particularly find Diet Deadpool Harley Quinn all that interesting. She isn't like your Batmans or your Supermans who actually have depth you can build a film around. They literally made up a character for Harley so she could have one scene where they pretend she has any real depth to her character before moving on.

Compare her to, say, even the Harley Quinn cartoon version of Harley. Tremendously more interesting there. In here, she's just... a glorified meme machine, really. She just felt really hamfisted into this one and out of place, and considering this team, that says a lot. It's hard for me to dump on it too much, because I think there's a lot of wasted potential with development of characters in this movie, but I've found Harley to just be so boring in all three of them even if she has a few good lines in each film.

I really had a great time watching this movie. I just expected a fun romp and was happy with what I got.

I'll agree that Margot Robbie Harley doesn't really do anything for me either. Like she had some funny spots but I just don't care a whole hell of a lot? She's got nothing interesting going on for her and isn't so funny or cool that having her in the movie was an incredible boon?

Mass disappointment in Captain Boomerang dying so early. What the hell. He was the only good part of the first movie, and he's a total delight.

I did feel a vast tonal change, but I didn't take the movie tremendously seriously. When someone mentioned the movie didn't seem to care about their characters a whole lot, I felt that a lot too. In turn, I just didn't care and just enjoyed it for what it was, which may have been the intent. I'll express further disappointment in what goes on with Polka Dot Man. The conclusion to his story could have been so much better.

And King Shark just... wasn't awesome? He had some funny parts, but it was very much just a "why are you here" deal. If he wasn't in the movie, you would have to change nothing at all.

And I felt a lot of Ratcatcher 2 stuff fell pretty flat also when they tried to get emotional with it. Probably because everything else around the movie just... didn't want to take any emotional investment? So it's hard to really sell me on her emotional investment.

Hell, I thought the best part of the movie in terms of actual emotional stake was "Peacemaker... What a joke." Just because it was simple, to the point, and it hit a lot harder than a lot of things, because yeah. This dude is a fucking joke, as much as he wants to act like he's so much better. And Cena sold it so well and you could actually tell that hit Peacemaker hard. Wish Flagg didn't have to die because I love Joel Kinneman as well.

All in all, I had a fun time. That's precisely what I wanted from this film. I know I sound down on it, because it could have definitely been more if they hadn't gone halfway on a lot of ideas, but... I'll take a fun film like this, honestly.

The thing with Chris Chan's trans identity, from what I understand of it, is that Chris wanted to identify as a female because they were obsessed with finding a girlfriend and decided that if they identified as a female that they wouldn't have to compete with men anymore because they had a thought in their head that all women seem to have boyfriends.

So make of that knowledge what you will.

You haven't fucking addressed a single point I originally made! You jumped onto an aside that I only went on to address why I don't think AEW being successful means what I said doesn't make sense. I didn't even fucking talk about the WWE until scarlet kept bringing it up so I wanted to address why I didn't think his comparison and assessment of the two added up, and even then I specifically said that WWE isn't relevant to AEW's roster being bloated or not to convey that my point was about AEW, not some comparison of it and the WWE. You then jumped on that point and I've been replying to you since. You're literally diverting onto a side point that I specified I didn't think was too relevant so you can bitch at me for responding to you instead of ignoring everything you said to go back to something you never showed any interest in discussion holy shit.

Panthera posted...
They struggle to even find TV time for a lot of the people they're supposedly high on, large chunks of their roster spend weeks or months at a time doing nothing but the occasional jobber squash on a youtube show where the commentary team doesn't even treat it like it's very serious, they have a ton of factions and some of them are weirdly large as if it's just a way to feature more people, Dynamite tends to move at a break neck pace with pre- and post-match brawls everywhere and cutting from segment to segment super fast so they can squeeze more talent onto each show, they can barely find time for the women's division at all except cramming it in at the last minute (granted that problem is likely caused by more than just roster size), etc. I think it's pretty hard to deny their roster is bloated when they struggle to feature anyone beyond the top stars consistently, give people supposed break out moments only for them to vanish from TV for a while and do so despite a booking philosophy that seems geared towards trying to find reason to fit as many onto a show as they can.

Dark and Elevation don't really help much because neither is watched all that much and both are very heavy on jobber squashes and light on stories, especially story progression for big names. It's just hard to feel like an appearance carries much weight when it's on a show where nothing much of consequence happens. Elevation is like, Main Event/205 Live tier at most for a WWE comparison and Dark is beneath that. I cite the upcoming Rampage because it's televised and it sounds like they intend to treat it at least close to Dynamite in status.

PrivateBiscuit1 posted...
They literally plucked Jungle Boy back and threw him into the swing of things out of nowhere and people went nuts for him all over again. So I don't think there's a tremendous mismanagement of talent, and it's clear they've been biding their time for Rampage, where they get another hour to showcase their talent to a wider audience. Another hour will help them tremendously. But the fact that they can slide in a lot of these guys into Dynamite after them not being featured for a while and they're still getting more bombastic reactions than probably 95% of the WWE guys says a ton.

I do think it's a bit weird to criticize it a ton here since... well, it's working?

They're doing better at retaining way less interest! AEW would love to be boring enough to consistently be watched by significantly more people than even their debut, by far their most viewed episode, was seen by.

I'm just saying I don't see why AEW being successful makes my criticism of them invalid when WWE being successful has never stopped me before
Panthera, you have skipped over every salient point I made about your complaints making no sense. I clearly said that your criticism is contradicted by reality, whereas you seem to be taking that as "I'm not allowed to complain because they're successful."

Like you're arguing that plummeting ratings and interest in an increasingly more stagnant product is more appealing to people than a product that is constantly hot and getting more viewership, or staying the same.

AEW would not want to be in a fucking freefall of ratings that even bringing on John fucking Cena can't save them from. Because WWE has no momentum to speak of because they do nothing but put on a shitty product that is actively pushing people away.

AEW is getting more people to come over, and they're only a year old. Imagine if they keep up the quality, with Punk and Bryan, in a year how these ratings will look. I think they'll be happier then.

Anyway, you've abandoned almost every original point you had so I'm outtie.

WWE having a global audience that AEW lacks is a point in favour of them being more relevant, not against it
I mean, if they tried to expand into India with these giant YouTube numbers being the reason, then they completely and utterly failed to gather an audience when they purposefully tried to cater to them, I'd say there isn't much relevance there after all.

Panthera posted...
No, you don't need to look at a subset of the audience to decide which has a bigger audience and wider reach. Especially when there's a distinct tendency to pick whichever age/gender category within the 18-49 range AEW does best in and call it "the demo" (ie AEW outdid Raw in like, men 18-35 or something a week or two ago? And this became "AEW won the demo!" even though the actual demo rating was still in Raw's favour). I also really doubt AEW is the only company getting anyone to watch via DVR.
I'm talking momentum. RAW and Smackdown's demo keeps going down. AEW's is still rising. Who cares more about the shows in that case? Hell, just general ratings as well. Cena came back and the ratings spiked before plummeting again. AEW has been doing their shows and they're doing consistently good numbers without needing to drag arguably the last biggest star of wrestling back. Granted, they're probably getting Punk and Danielson here, so expect ratings to rocket even more. Hard to say if they'll sustain or not, but at the very least AEW is doing far better at retaining interest and investment right now than WWE is, or else their ratings would be more consistent.

Additionally, Meltzer has stated that AEW's DVR numbers were very impressive compared to WWE's.

Panthera posted...
We (as in the internet wrestling community collectively here, rather than any specific members of it) have been criticizing the WWE relentlessly for decades while they have generally become more and more successful. AEW's current TV deal is supposedly 175 million over 4 years, WWE just reported quarterly revenue of 265 million. By every metric beyond personal preference for the TV show WWE is working vastly better than AEW. Which isn't even a knock on AEW, they've been about as successful as you could realistically expect, just a statement of how well the WWE is doing for itself and the position they've set themselves up to be in with decades of brand recognition and a massive content library to offer. So I'm not seeing why AEW can't be criticized in three posts (this is not exactly a ton) if we can have a 507 topic series that has probably been a good 60% WWE criticism.
Hey man, go off. I'm just saying some of your criticisms seem pretty unfounded when they're directly contradicted by what's going on.

What exactly defines hot or over here? Nothing in AEW attracts nearly as many viewers as what Raw or Smackdown do, and in terms of social media engagement and stuff like youtube views the gap gets a lot wider. Like you're really arguing that AEW Dark with its 200-300k weekly viewership is a legit place to help people make feel like stars but a really bad Raw segment still being 5+ times that and more than Dynamite can come close to means the entire show is irrelevant? WWE isn't even relevant to discussing AEW's roster but if you want to bring it in it's far more popular than AEW is so why is the latter's popularity enough to make them unassailable if the former's isn't?
If I remember correctly, Youtube views for WWE stuff is normally from other countries (and if I remember even further, their Youtube numbers from India were exclusively why they wanted to branch out there before).

But all you need to do is look at demo ratings to see where the actual excitement is. AEW by far has more momentum going for it, and those are numbers not counting the DVR numbers, which Meltzer has said are ridiculously high.

They literally plucked Jungle Boy back and threw him into the swing of things out of nowhere and people went nuts for him all over again. Saw this on the internet, someone correct me if wrong - Virginias incest laws do not apply to mother/daughter relationships, so in court this person cannot be charged unless they are prosecuted as a male.

Is this actually true?
There is absolutely not a chance in hell that Chris had done any paperwork to have his gender changed in any meaningful way or anything. I would be shocked if that happened. So Chris will likely be tried as a male.

From talking with a friend who knows more about Chris-Chan, I think it's also worth mentioning that Chris' mother was also pretty crappy when it came to raising and caring for him. She had refused to give him the help he desperately needed and cultivated an inappropriate, close relationship with him, and she had ignored any obvious signs of help that he needed, such as self-mutilation, mental instability, etc. When his father had passed, she blew any money he left them on junk (they were massive hoarders), and wasted it in record time. From what I understand she probably also acted more sick on camera long before this when Chris recorded videos so people would donate more money to them, but I have no concrete knowledge of that, but it wouldn't shock me to learn.

Obviously, that excuses nothing, and she had dementia and wasn't of sound mind of anything anymore, but it's worth noting that she played a part in Chris developing to this point in his life, in a very negative way.

So uh, things got worse for Chris Chan.

This is such a bizarre story in itself, but someone was trying to help him go to a brony convention on the opposite end of the country and helped set up a GoFundMe where Chris Chan would do art for people in exchange for money, and apparently he was following through on it. As such, because Chris had another situation where some of his trolls were extorting him for money by telling him that they were going to unleash a doomsday weapon that Chris created in his Sonichu stories, this same person had access to Chris' email to help him keep him from giving money to trolls.

Well, with this Protective Order in place, Chris took $750 from his mother's bank account and sent it to himself, since apparently he's had access to the account. He lied to the person trying to help him about it when confronted, and they've since stopped attempting to help and informed the police. The problem with this is that it's a criminal act under the protective order, as he is effectively stealing from his mother.

Just such a fucking disaster.

Not as much as you'd think. It's clear Disney is going to play some cards to try to weasel out of it, they're going to waste some of ScarJo's money (many of these actors don't have that money to challenge Disney), and they'll end up settling for some much smaller amount than what she's asking for, but it will still be gargantuan.

People going "I hope ScarJo cleans Disney out!" aren't going to get that satisfaction. Drop in the bucket for them by the end of this.

I just find this harder to care about due to the amount of life-changing money that will change hands that ultimately won't mean much for either party by the end.

This is an objectively wrong post and you should feel bad for posting shit like this

I think people who say "it's hard to feel sympathy for a millionaire so who cares" are also wrong

She is completely in the right to pursue this. She had an agreement in good faith on sharing revenue, and Disney is intentionally squirming around it, in a way that is both morally wrong and, luckily for ScarJo, legally wrong. Even if you don't think it matters if ScarJo gets her payout or not, it's objectively good if she establishes precedent that companies like Disney can't screw people over by moving revenue to streaming services so they don't have to respect the contract

it's not that different from how Disney is dodging paying royalties to writers and other creators that are due royalties from Star Wars and properties in the Fox takeover. they just aren't honouring any of those contracts "because they didn't sign them" even though they acquired the property and are legally required to honour them. but since most of those creators, they don't really have a shot at fighting it. there's couple big creators that actually are fighting it and all the smaller ones will live or die based on how that goes.
This is nice to think she's doing something noble by stopping Disney.

But she isn't. She's going to settle for a fat check out of court and this will get dismissed before they can legally tell Disney "Nah you can't do this." It's ScarJo though, so she's in a very rare number of folks who can actually take them to task. But to think she's going to ensure nobody else gets screwed by this is wild.

It's a lot of why I've stepped back from politics a lot since Biden was elected.

Yeah, it's better. It's not making things so much worse. But there's still assholes in charge who barely give a fuck.

And there's nothing I can do about it but keep getting angry that the non-evil party is just grossly apathetic.

The idea that "political capital" is a finite resource that gets spent makes zero sense. You gain goodwill with voters by doing things for them. You gain goodwill with politicians you need to support you by offering them something in return. It's only because we have so many politicians where the "something in return" happens to be "doing nothing at all."
It's easy to not do anything when you can just say "Look at all the evil shit the other side is going to do."

I think the next election is going to feature a lot of demoralized people not bothering to vote again, because they can't frenzy people into voting again.

Funny how she leaves out:

"Suppose at this point your child decided not to go to college because they don't want to be knee deep in debt. Now that debt can be canceled, and they don't have to worry about it. They can get an education, which can in turn lead to them getting a better job."

I just wish Biden would say that. Like just say that to her. He'd get a LOT of points from me if he did (but sadly I suspect he won't)
Biden has been talking about how he doesn't want to do anything with student debt only after he got elected. Nothing is happening with student debt until next election where Dems can pretend they give a fuck for votes again.

Christ alive, Nancy Pelosi is such a piece of shit. Not only is she fucking lying about Biden not having that power, but then she continues to try justifying why we shouldn't cancel it.

Should have wavedashed at the alter.

But for real I feel for you buddy. It's a hard thing to go through. I know a lot of us envision a future with someone that didn't pan out, but I'm glad you found out sooner than later. This will suck, and it will be stressful, but you'll be able to go forward after this and it'll get better.

My first actual terrors came from seeing Johnny Depp be turned into a blood fountain after Freddy Krueger drags him into his bed. I didn't sleep on my bed for a week, at least.

To that point I simply have to say and? With what this movie is about and the themes it is dealing with how could any other kind of villain be appropriate? They also clearly took a lot from Epstein as well, but that tracks with what this film is actually saying.
To put it simply... it was extremely lame and a laughable attempt to make this exploitation of women story in a movie like this. Like dude, they literally had her unable to strike back at him, inexplicably, because of the power of being MALE with pheromones to try showing the helplessness of women in that position. Further to that, we can do better as a Harvey Weinstein stand in than some chubby short dude. It's a superhero movie. Give us someone who is actually... cool? At all? Not just some loser whose name I can't even remember, and all I can remember about him is that he looked like Harvey Weinstein.

Spider-Man 2018 (game) is the only thing I've seen Taskmaster in, and he was one of the more boring characters in that. BW version definitely superior.
I actually cannot fathom having this opinion that the BW version is superior to anything. The BW version doesn't even do anything. lol

Finally saw Black Widow.

This might be my least favorite MCU movie. There is just barely anything here and a lot of the action scenes just felt entirely too overtop, which normally in a superhero movie is fine but Black Widow is supposed to be the most grounded among them.

Taskmaster could not have been a bigger letdown and I actually knew what was coming. The people defending the character are ridiculous. This villain is nothing. Just a husk. And her only line is about A MAN.

Speaking of, the villain is just fucking Harvey Weinstein. That's it. You just had your villain be Harvey Weinstein. She literally walks into his office and he's sitting on a couch. Just read between the lines and it's obvious what they were going for. Like fuck Harvey Weinstein, but who made the call to make his stand-in be the main villain of a superhero movie? You couldn't have done anything cooler?

The worst part of the movie was just how boring it was. Red Guardian and Yelena Bologna livened things up a bit but they seemed like they were barely involved.

Just not a good movie all around. I don't know what they were thinking with a lot of choices in this one.

Edit: Oh and while we're saying it, Taskmaster using copy abilities was just so underutilized. Total waste of a cool character and idea, only meant to draw in fans of the character and nothing more to watch this film.

I'm honestly shocked at how much this seems like a wholesale ripoff of Smash. But I'm pretty alright with it, especially since it seems very good and they're putting a lot of love into it.

But it absolutely is going to have better online than Smash ever has, which is pathetic for Nintendo.

The Flight Attendant deserves all the awards. What an entertaining show. I consider it more of a drama with comedy in it though, but I see why they put it in Comedy so it had a better shot of winning.

I fell off of watching WWE a while back because it's all, well, terrible and frankly borderline unwatchable.

But as someone who enjoyed WWE a long time, I think AEW is awesome and love to watch all of their programming. They have a phenomenal roster and mostly hit with everything they do. Almost every one of their weekly Dynamite shows has some awesome matches on it. It's just good wrestling content. I recommend checking it out once.

I didn't mind that they made Taskmaster a silent killer. I only really know him from UMvC3 where he's one of my mains, but I knew they weren't gonna use that voice bc it's basically Rocket's voice, so actually not having any voice is better imo. I think they were a little too subtle with the copied moves though, since they were there but most people didn't notice them aside from the Cap shield stuff.
Yo what? Lol

No Mans Sky had buzz in the mainstream media, something neither Fallout 76 nor Cyberpunk really had to the same extent. Bethesda can recover from Fallout and CDPR can theoretically get Cyberpunk to be at least ok. The thing is, even after massive revisions and everything, NMS left a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths and its going to be hard for them to sell any new projects.
Man, everyone loves No Man's Sky now after all the updates, and I'm sure that the company has learned from their millions of mistakes. It's absolutely had a major swingback that people really enjoy it now and champion it as a major success now.

Any company would gladly work with No Man's Sky developers, but probably just not give them the outrageous amount of attention Sony gave them, which is honestly on Sony for doing and not supporting them more when they obviously needed it. Giving a tiny indy game studio all of that attention was the issue here with crushing timelines and no proper marketing and PR. If a developer can come back and make everyone happy with their game after that, they're definitely worth working with again. They've made a ton of mistakes, but they're not ones they'll ever make twice.
