Whats wrong with anime sword fighters? I dont play smash

The game has quite a few and like five characters from the DLC have swords. It's mostly Fire Emblem's fault due to that being their whole thing and the four clone-ish characters. The anime part is mostly a joke.

What I don't get is that the same company that released like half a dozen of the same 2D Mario game in like 6 years refuses to rehash a completely fresh concept like Odyssey a single time.

It needed a better clincher than Splatoon. They have to have something in the works that would have been more hype than that confusing trailer. Couple neat things, but definitely could have had a few true bombshells to hype up the year.

What was the point of that intro if its just more of the same?

While the storm facing Texas is a whole other level of shitty weather in relation to normal conditions, it is acceptable when someone is freaking out about the slightest inconvenient weather.

All arguments relating to the topic always end up as strawman against strawman, so it's hard to tell what actual majority beliefs are at this point. There are definitely cases where someone on the development team has done something worth criticizing and cases where it's a bunch of idiots complaining about fucking nothing, Then both those get jumbled up in the larger argument to create even more vitriol.

There are those who use it in a hyperbolic manner to criticize something, and then there are a few morons who truly mean it.

Pretty much as certain as possible one does not exist in how humanity has conceptualized it. It has the same amount of proof as all our other superstitions and fiction, absolutely nothing. The likelihood of it existing is no greater than that of Bugs Bunny. If there were to be any actual force behind the creation of the universe, sentient or not, it has absolutely nothing to do with us.

One of my closest friends is a trans man and people misgendering him is a problem whether you give a shit about it or not, so please fuck all the way off with your argument that literally comes down to "there aren't many trans men so who cares?"

Then he should correct them and, if everything is working as it should, they'll then use the proper pronouns. Neither you or he should expect people to go above and beyond that in terms of regular discourse. Something like having a place to list preferred pronouns on a form like someone mentioned a few posts ago is about as far as we should expect it to go.

And people saying it'll stop all of the couple transmen who decide to give birth from being misgendered isn't an argument as to why it's at all necessary. You need to actually have a problem for it to require a solution.

Trying to normalize something unnecessary that only affects a small minority of people and is not required for that minority's acceptance is a waste of time. Being polite and using their preferred pronouns does not require us to then go down some rabbit hole of neutralizing all gendered language on the off-chance that a single individual may at some point be misgendered.

Because trying to baby-proof an entire language is a stupid and inane task. People are going to be mistakenly misgendered and should expect it. What they should expect alongside that once it is corrected is that people will then not repeat the mistake. Anyone who refuses to do so is an asshole and should be seen as such. We could go through life using gender neutral pronouns for literally every occasion, but that would be a stupid waste of time. There is being polite to people and respecting how they wished to be addressed, and then there is this silly notion that we have to be incapable of offending anyone at all times. The latter is an impossible standard.

If you're actually serious, one can use appropriate terminology on a case by case basis dependent on the individual. There is no particular reason to expect broad terminology changes based on a few fringe cases. Recognition of a trans individual does not require sweeping changes.

I think you need to have the mind of a roleplayer for it to be particularly interesting. I honestly couldn't tell you a single significant encounter in that game. They're just all the same archetypes with a few particular variations each. As in-game AI learning gets better, it could become an absolutely fantastic gimmick, but it's currently up to the imagination of the player.

This broad, nonsensical shit is so stupid. We can be sensitive to the needs of the minority both without making up stupid non-issues and making broad, sweeping changes irrelevant to 95%+ of people who will be in that particular situation.

Generally being canceled early leads to a rushed conclusion, so pretty much the same level of suckiness. Guess short is better because less of a time sink to get to the bad end.

It's one of those things that doesn't really matter either way, but the fact that they announced it is the dumb thing. They should have just taken it out without any fanfare if they wanted to take it out. One or two random Youtubers would've made a comparison video. No. Sins of the parent is already a dumb concept. Sins of the people from hundreds of years ago based on a shared characteristic is several levels of stupidity above that.

I can definitely see why people may not see it as their cup of tea. I put ten hours into it, dropped it, picked it back up randomly, and then proceeded to binge it for 100 hours. If it meshes with you, its superb, but I can get not having that spark in the first place for a variety of reasons.

The divide between self-identification and actual definitions gets a bit funny sometimes. Like nobody should be an asshole to someone over however they see themselves, but it at least has to somewhat mesh with how we define things.

Every interaction that involves money is exploitative in some sense. You're just putting this strange standard on housing because it's an easy target for ire because there are definitely very shitty landlords out there.

It's always amazing to see any lack of nuance, as if there cannot be both good and shitty people in the same "profession."

The series is definitely a lot of lost potential. They can't help but repeat the same exact tropes over and over and over. It's not so bad that it's unreadable, but it could be so much better if they didn't try to play it so ridiculously safe. The number of times "main characters fight new threat, main characters get floored easily, main characters fight again without any real training or strategy but still win just because" is repeated is just mind-boggling.

Some of the examples that have circulated virally have seemed really stupid, but that could be a failure by the teacher more so than an inherent failure of the system.

Tokenism leads to weak characters. Rather than worry about an individual work, its always better just to foster an environment where people are not going to be shunned for the inclusion of characters with certain traits.

The proper tests are definitely a good way to measure general intelligence. The issue is that we put way too much importance on that measurement, as if that inherently makes someone better or worse.

It depends what you mean by human. Assuming we find the means to leave the planet and start propagating throughout the galaxy and wider universe, there's the possibility of becoming so numerous that full extinction is nearly impossible. But by the time the sun dies, we'd have evolved into thousand or millions of different beings. What's known as a human today certainly wouldn't exist.

This is always one of those labels that seems so broad that it's pointless. It's just a nice little buzzword to sound enlightened. I'm sure it's not overly hard to find policies and politicians, past and present, with both overt and covert racist policies, but the helpful thing to do is have an actual concrete idea as to what those are so they can be properly combated.
