I think that was a Disguised Toast video the day before the expansion released, because I remember Blizzard let him tinker with stuff to try and discover broken interactions.

I crafted me some Twilight Acolytes and have been running Control Priest to some great effect. The list I saw ran 2 Power Word: Shields, but I cut them for a Primordial Drake and a Book Wyrm for extra Dragon activators.

Cubelock is rough, because the opponent usually knows what's going on before they play their Doomguards, and kill them before I have a chance to take them. However, it shits on a ton of other decks seeing play right now: Murloc and Aggro Paladins, Aggro Druid, and Control Warlock in particular have been very good to me.

Secret Mage depends on the draw. I had one game where I was holding a bunch of cheap spells the whole game just waiting for a Priest of the Feast, and with my health at 4 and him drawing his final 3 cards with Aluneth, I finally got one and proceeded to clear his board, healing me up to 25 in the process.

I don't run Skulking Geist, but still have had decent luck against Jade Druid, which was a surprise. Just gotta pick the right turn in the mid-to-late game where you Mind Control the biggest Jade he has and start just aiming for the face.

Climbed from 15 to 8 the past few days with it, and I'm having a lot of fun.

I have a terrible time the next day if I get a minute less than 6 hours, but I get 6.5-8 almost every weeknight. Then the first night of my weekend that I don't have anything to worry about in the morning, I let myself sleep as long as I can, which usually ends up being about 11 hours.

So on average, I'd say between 7.5 and 8 hours.

I'd say that's pretty bad luck. I'm guessing a good 80% of the people I play in Casual are piloting either Tier 4-ish decks or popular Tier 1 and 2 decks but with weird tech, meme, or replacement cards thrown in (The Darkness is a card I see a lot of, for example).

I made a big spell Mage deck, since I got Dragoncaller Alanna and Frost Lich Jaina from my 30-pack bundle. I just went up against a Burn Mage who had me down to 1 HP with Ice Block still up on Turn 6, after wasting his Hero Power on a Potion of Polymorph'd Bright-eyed Scout (mistake #1).

I decide to throw my Artificer out with my Dragon's Fury to try and buy Ice Block another turn. He Firelands Portal'd my face and got an Abomination. Welp, I'm fucked then. I just Firelands Portal his face back to see what I get, but it's just a vanilla 5/5, so bleh. He then Hero Powers my face, breaks my block, and proceeds to run the Abomination into the 5/5 to kill them both.

I was able to play my second block on Turn 8, Alexstrasza Turn 9, and win on Turn 11.

The hammer is extremely simple. You basically want to charge most of the time. Your first time charging, press circle and store a charge, then charge again. That stored charge will last until you put away your weapon or the monster makes you flinch. Then, when you see an opportunity to get a hit in, run up, quit moving, and then let go of the charge trigger.

You don't want to use the moving full charge that makes you swing around like a madman ever. It ruins the sharpness of the weapon and leaves you incredibly vulnerable. If you think you're going to lose your chance to land a hit before you get a full charge, a half-charge uppercut is also a fine thing to hit with.

If a monster is stunned or down for an extended period of time, mash Circle. The 4th and 5th hit are super powerful. If you don't think you'll get to the 4th swing of the Circle combo, Triangle 3 times does more damage than Circle 3 times.

So I finished Low Ranks with Rock last night. Looked at some of the armor I could make, and the Diablos set had some good stuff for Great Sword and Hammer, so I figured I'd go for it. The first story mission after Low Rank was to do an expedition in the Wastes, so it lined up well.

I hadn't tried to fight a Diablos by myself yet; I had only beaten one with Pxl and one with Rock, so it seemed a lot tougher, but I got it down. Then I started carving and realized....

That was a HR Diablos. So I just went out and beat one of the toughest LR monsters on HR my first time out there. That felt pretty good.

I just made some armor pieces that I feel are generally useful for pretty much everything: attack up, speed sharpening, evasion, stun,speed eating, that kind of stuff. If nothing terribly useful is available for a piece, just go with the highest Defense.

Kinda wish Creeper was knocked down to a 3/5 instead, because then you could still run it in control or midrange decks and it could contest the board pretty well with 3 attack. But man, 2 attack does nothing.

If there was an easy way to change Raza's interaction with Shadowreaper, so maybe it's 0 mana hero powers, but 1 mana for Shadowreapers, so you could still do silly Inspire things in Wild, I'd be all for that.

And maybe give Patches a Battlecry: Charrrrge or something. Drawing him is going to be even more disastrous now.

All that said, I'm definitely more glad they did something over nothing, and the Bonemare nerf is perfect.

1. Honeylune Ridge: Caves

Just when you thought you were out of level themes, turns out they saved the best for last. What a track. I'm a sucker for guitars and trumpets, and this song indulges exactly what I want in a song so fucking hard, I about can't stand it. Even the rhythm guitar section is stupidly good.

When you fall down that hole and this track hits, you know you're in for some serious shit. Outside of the aforementioned Bowser section, I think the Cave was easily the most fun section in the entire game. Jumping in and out of enemies, blasting through everything with the Chuck and the Bills, shooting shit up with the Sterms, you almost never got a chance to catch your breath, and it was wonderful.

2. Mount Volbono

When I came up with the idea for the music rankings, I didn't remember this song at all. For the sake of completeness, I went through every song in the game in full to make sure my rankings were as accurate as possible. When I got to Mount Volbono, my initial thought was "Yeah, this one didn't stick out to me at all, guess I need to make sure it doesn't crack the top 25."

Oh how wrong I was. I want to know exactly how many instruments got used in this song, because there isn't a single one I would take out. I've never really been a fan of drum lines or percussion-focused tracks in general (as noted in my first post, I generally favor songs with catchy melodies), and I'm also not terribly fond of most lava-centered themes, but this one is out of this world. The rhythm is all over the place, the back-and-forth of instruments is absurd, and then the woodwinds come in and just blow you away. I can't help but whistle along. If I had to wager a guess on which song I've listened to the most from this game, I would honestly guess this one.
