yeah I started playing at Odyssey or whatever it was that had the squirrel token flashback spell, so as far as I knew squirrels were just a normal part of the game

then they disappeared forever and it bummed me out

(this also applies to Cephalids, but I dont think those guys are ever coming back)

Based on what I've heard from others, I wouldn't be surprised if just getting to mythic at all in limited is enough to be in top 1200, since the number of players getting to mythic in limited is much less than in constructed. (ie. If there are less than 1200 players who get to mythic in limited it doesn't matter how much you play now since you can't drop out of mythic)

Im currently ranked 1360 in mythic playing against someone whose rank is 90%, so theres gotta be at least 1500, probably like 2000 people in mythic right now.

I lost to someone who basically drew his whole deck and I thought I was going to win because I wiped the board and then it turned out one of the last cards he had was Blue Suns Zenith which he cast targeting me to make me draw the rest of my deck instead.

A lot of the time it was just a trade of putting a +1/+1 counter on one or two weak creatures and then I get a card or a flier. The trade-off never fucked me over, and having a big double striking flier is pretty good too.

I have a sealed deck right now with the Witherbloom deans + Silverquill dragon and theres some really cool synergy between the lifegain and +1/+1 counter strategies. Its super fun

(update: this deck got 7 wins hell yeah. Silverquill dragon rules, 5 mana black creature who drains 1 whenever a creature with a counter attacks also rules)

I know there were people upset about S.O.S. being filler or something, but I loved that episode and was so happy to see Rose and Bernard get their time to shine.

If there had been a few more episodes like that, telling one good story focused on minor characters instead of pulling a seventh Kate flashback out of their butt, season 3 would have been a little better.

it feels like they were writing the ending and realized they didnt have anything for some of the characters to do, so they just decided to blow them all up at once so they wouldnt have to deal with it

it really is a bummer that three of the better characters on the show all went out at once like that

Im at least glad these will all be supplemental products and not added to Standard/Modern/Pioneer/etc

for now. I cant help worrying that this stuff will increasingly encroach on the normal Magic stuff.
It started with just silver boarder promo cards for Transformers or whatever, then within the last ~year we went from those Godzilla skinned cards to the Walking Dead secret lair to the annoucement of full on Warhammer commander decks. Its moving so fast.

I literally just qualified for day 2 moments ago with a red/white boast/equipment/token (?) deck
mvp card ended up being the boast Gods artifact side which lets you discard one card to let you play the top two cards of your deck for the turn

one of the games in my last match came down to the absolute last card in my deck (kayas whatever, the double strike instant). It was very tense.

now I just have to make sure I wake up early enough tomorrow to sign up for the next part (the window is 8 - 10 am central)

We are supposedly still going to get around 2 and a half hours of content so there would definitely be enough time to introduce someone else if that holds true. If there is another villain to be introduced they wouldn't even necessarily have to be resolved in Wandavision because they could also serve as the villain in Dr. Strange 2.

I do think the villain of DS2 will appear in this and probably be linked to Agatha, but I dont think that character will be an active presence in this shows story.

ok heres my theory

This is the closest thing to a Scarlet Witch origin movie were going to get. A lot of Marvels origin movies feature villains that are like dark mirror versions of the hero, so I think Agatha will essentially be that for Wanda.

It will turn out that Agatha lost a child, and she needed to do the whole elaborate plan to somehow fulfill a contract with Mephisto or whoever to get that character to bring Agathas child back. So shes an evil grieving magical lady to mirror Wandas good grieving magical lady. Wanda will realize she cant be like Agatha and will accept that she has to let Vision go.

then maybe that bigger bad guy will show up briefly when Agatha loses the fight

You don't have to know who Agatha is to know something was off about Agnes. Anyone who was paying attention knew she would turn out to be someone important.

It's just speculation, I could be completely wrong, but my guess is she's not the true villain. In fact I would even bet she's another victim. I can easily see her sticking around as Wanda's friend after all this is over.

I point to Pietro as my evidence, Wanda didn't bring him back. Agatha supposedly wants to bring someone back, but she doesn't have that power, so someone else still has to answer for Quicksilver.

Whatever the story with Pietro ends up being, I think the one thing we can say for sure is that hes not the MCU Pietro brought back from the dead. Hes either XMen Quicksilver brought from that dimension or hes some kind of imposter. Either of those things may be within Agathas power.

I always thought there would be a bigger bad guy involved, but I dont know that its necessary or a good idea anymore. Theres just not much time left to effectively introduce another villain and any sort of Agatha is actually being controlled by another evil thing seems like a waste when theyve made her a compelling villain on her own.

oh I thought it was pretty great. Elizabeth was doing an excellent Julie Bowen impression, and Vision did a Jim face. Agnethas I bit a kid once cutaway was legitimately funny too.

I think its about making and stealing the kids. The concept of Wandas kids being super powerful is something that comes up in comic storylines.

If she wanted Wanda to ressurect someone shes out of luck since Wanda probably doesnt have that power.

I think its very difficult for them to write a twist like this in a way that doesnt make it predictable for the very engaged with comics part of the audience unless they make it come completely out of left field with absolutely no foreshadowing. People online were predicting that Agnes would be Agatha before the show even began just based on her name and looking at potential characters associated with Scarlet Witch.

dont you think their terms for their mascot would be substantially stricter than for Sora? its like youre saying if youre going to go to a car dealer, you may as well buy the most expensive car there. I have a feeling Disney might be less on board with letting Mickey Mouse get shot with a gun by Bayonetta than if the same thing happens to Sora.

also Nintendo already does business with Disney in various capacities, I dont think starting that negotiation is a huge hurdle for them

You still have that division for Infinity War, but you haven't burned the Civil War concept on something so minor and pointless. It'd be a perfect Phase 5 Avengers film, when the roster is more fleshed out and everything.

but it would actually be a really bad Phase 5 Avengers movie compared to when they did it because Cap and Iron Man are gone. All the other heroes choosing sides and fighting each other is fun, but its not whats actually important. Steve and Tonys conflict is the core of that story.

I think the Civil War movie was a great adaptation of the concept fit into the constraints of the MCU. who would fill those shoes if they tried Civil War five years from now instead? Is there another pair of characters that could be nearly as effective?

In terms of how much I like the character, Leon might be my pick, but Im less excited about his potential because I dont think stage aesthetically / musically RE would be too interesting. Phoenix would be cooler if were doing a Capcom rep.

Rayman seems reasonable and would be cool and deserving and bright and fun, so Im kind of holding out hope for him.

also I still want Geno or Paper Mario to rep the RPG side of Mario

also also i think its reasonably likely we could get a Zelda character, but I think its basically 0% chance that it would be the Zelda character I really want which is LttP style pig Ganon. If I had the power to personally add characters, hed probably be in my top 5 at this point.
