I enjoy the hype people have around Smash and I like the reveals but I'm never really invested in the characters myself, it would be cool to get someone I really like.

most of my favorites are in the minimal-but-not-zero-chance category. I'll go with Reimu, but Phoenix Wright, Laharl, and a Fate rep would all be about the same level of hype and not-actually-gonna-happen. Beatrice if we stray into no-chance territory. Waluigi is slightly more likely but slightly less wanted. Geno and Sans....rip in peace.

I think the only thinking keeping Crono and Sora lower for me is that we literally just got Sephiroth. I doubt we'll get another Square character on top of him.

I'm rooting for Phoenix personally. The only new Capcom rep we got for Ultimate was an Echo. So we're pretty overdue for a new one.

In terms of how much I like the character, Leon might be my pick, but Im less excited about his potential because I dont think stage aesthetically / musically RE would be too interesting. Phoenix would be cooler if were doing a Capcom rep.

Rayman seems reasonable and would be cool and deserving and bright and fun, so Im kind of holding out hope for him.

also I still want Geno or Paper Mario to rep the RPG side of Mario

also also i think its reasonably likely we could get a Zelda character, but I think its basically 0% chance that it would be the Zelda character I really want which is LttP style pig Ganon. If I had the power to personally add characters, hed probably be in my top 5 at this point.

This plus I really just don't think Nintendo gives a shit about Chrono Trigger. I'd love to see some evidence otherwise, but I hardly think it's something they realize people care about.

A new Zelda rep; i.e., not another "Huhr duhr, have another version of the same character!" shit. Give us a Midna/Midna on Wolf Link, Skull Kid, Impa, Vaati.... I was all for Ghirahim back with 4, given the importance of his actions to the series' overarching story, and that I simply liked his character, but nonselection and ultimately getting the assist trophy treatment would signal that ship has sailed. Really, as things stand now and all things considered, I think the Kid is my first choice, though it remains that I will take even Tingle at this point.

Haven't even played AoC yet, but it looks that way to me, too. Getting some younger incarnations has certainly done her popularity a favor, and if anything can overcome Sakurai's (rumored or factual)....lack of liking for Zelda, it'd be that.

Impa would be cool but I don't like the logic of including another Zelda character just to fill an imaginary quota

As for Goku, iirc it was actually publicly addressed that they don't want non video game characters in the game.

As for my answer. It would be 2B, technically I like A2 more but 2B simply has a much higher chance.

obviously neither will happen, but I think Sakurai getting overruled on the only video game characters thing is more likely than anyone involved with the process even beginning to consider adding Zidane.
Unless we get like ten more fighter packs consisting of only Square characters, no ones thinking about Zidane.
