It's honestly the single biggest flaw with the game, especially since early on we didn't know what Adaptability meant, which contributed to a lot of negative early impressions that have stuck with people ever since. --- It's Reyn Time. |

It wasn't as compelling as what came after, but I could tell that it was clearly in the setup phase, and the setup was good and introduced a bunch of likable characters. My hangups with the game have only ever been about the gameplay, specifically the random battle encounter rate and the needlessly obtuse requirements for some Stars of Destiny. --- It's Reyn Time. |

For me the main selling point of this game would have been the songs from other Square titles, and the majority of that is paywalled. There's also a big psychological barrier to getting a game and seeing a large chunk of its content behind expensive DLC. That's demoralizing, even if the base game would otherwise be a good deal. --- It's Reyn Time. |
