All that practice protecting idiotic green units in FE6 has finally paid off!

Going to lay it out flat right now: I would have quit this game wholesale without scumming.

I too the castle and shit popped off so I loading the last turn and am now going back to my other castle to RECOVER before moving on. Will give me a good time to cool off and grind some social links too, and see how I wanna distribute these rings. I couldn't pick and choose at the time who got the kills because.... yeah....but Lacheis DID land the final blow on that other Mercenary! Thought I would get way more exp than that lol.

You get depressingly low combat experience in the first generation of FE4 due to enemies just not being that high level in general, the only exception are the bandits who actually get all the way up to level 30 and a few bosses (who don't even give extra experience for being bosses), it makes ranked runs interesting since gen 1 experience always feels like you must be bad for doing so poorly, then gen 2 comes around and you cap almost everyone with minimal effort.

Torn between giving this pursuit ring to Noishe to make him good or Quan to make him a God.

I mean...Arden ain't keeping it lol.

Probably better on Noishe since he can use swords. Even Arden doubles things with the Pursuit Ring because he uses swords.

Stayed up until 5AM doing pre-sortie content for chapter 3 and still has to clean it up on my lunch break. Realized the meta of swapping around items just for arena of they're cheap enough, using the characters with weapons i want to swap to someone else first to bring the price down. Also didn't know I could use abilities in the castle!

I'm loving the mangement stuff, it almost feels like a simulation game at times rather than an FE game.

My biggest problem so far is if I'm between objectives and and just needing to travel across the map for some reason with no enemies to worry about, it's suchhhhh a slog.

Yeah, the traveling with no enemies is not great. I do like the large armies that show up to combat you, though.

Ive always been a big fan of the FE4 map music. I particularly like Chapter 1s music a lot.

spoilers not sure if I should bring up the trap of marrying Lewyn with Sylvia since theyre kinda intended to be together but you miss out on Holsety in Gen 2.

Yeah I'm not sure how they fix that problem in a potential remake. Free teleport to other castles you have taken from ones you have + some kind of return item?

That sounds super abusable though. I kind of don't want them to just divide the maps into more chapters or something like that, though.

Auto move but with selectable squadrons and objectives, an expansion of what Echoes did. Hell, could even have it move to the cinematic camera like on 3 houses during it, and you get to see them all charging somewhere like an army.

BTW the Christmas Cavs in this game are at their absolute worst.

Noishe looks like he's going to at least have value passing down skills, but Alec's entire being is shockingly bad.

Which is shame because he's the coolest looking Christmas cav in the series I think!

I baited her in a big circle around the woods until she looped back around to Sigurd's range.

Oh, also, Ethlyn capped right before the last castle in chapter 3 and I promoted her.

Instant God tier.

Lex promoted in the castle so I haven't gotten to use him yet, outside of arena where...the next fight was a Myrmidon so he can't win it lol.

I believe her name is Erinys since FEH. To be fair, Im still quite used to the old names.

FE really loves just completely changing characters names in localization for whatever reason. Sometimes it sort of makes sense, sometimes it doesn't.

By far the worst offender IMO is Astrid in FE9/10, who is named Stella in Japanese. I really don't understand that one at all. That's already a Western name, and sounds better...

I think some of the more recent FE5 patches add QoL features that didn't exist in the original game. So if you want the authentic FE5 experience, you need to take care to avoid those.

Man I really don't want to add that game to this list, but it's going to hit really different when I know more than 20% of the characters.

Ironically the only thing I really l about FEH, and I knew this before I even knew what the name of FE4 game was, is "Arden is a God".

From what friends of mine in Discord have been telling me, I do not want the authentic Thracia experience.

I love Thracia but there's really no reason to not use the new patch with QoL changes. They added an enemy range button, for instance, which honestly I'd love if they just implemented in every single older FE period.

Universal Enemy Range has 100% been the thing I have missed most in every single one of these pre-FE11 games (I don't remember if 9 or 10 had it).

The one that always stuck out to me was Kevin -> Kieran.

Looking over that patch again and one of the thing it apparently includes is showing growth rates in game. MODERN FE doesn't do that, lol.

Worst offender is Fates Arthur, considering FE already had an Arthur in FE4 (and an Artur in FE8, though that was another localization change). And his original name was Harold, which would've fit Nohr anyway.

And the Project Naga translation is the most up to date, although it's still listed as a beta and doesn't have all of the most recent names from Heroes either.
