Is there anything wrong with Kentucky?
I bet it's really beautiful there in parts.
Like the rest of Appalachia, it has a history of the people fighting against and being oppressed by the coal mining companies

It is very beautiful. My mom used to drive me there once a year when my grandfather was alive. There was this huge bridge I always remembered and the hills were so green.

note that they have footage of crowds of people standing unmoved and groups carrying lone wounded individuals for treatment but AFAIK no evidence that a tank actually fired a shell into a crowd or that "thousands" of people were killed

I get that this is a sensitive topic given China is an authoritarian regime but it would be nice to have any evidence whether by a handcam or sattellite of the up-to-10,000 deaths reported by some western governments

It also gets alleged that the "tank man" was "summarily executed" within days of the incident but there is not evidence of this either (wikipedia claims the claim comes mainly from an aide to Richard Nixon...), nor it is clear to me why China would hide such an execution if their goal is to demonstrate against counter-revolutionaries. Isn't the point of a Terror that people know to be afraid?

Read this study, people.

We contribute to the extensive literature on international influences on democratization and democratic breakdowns by conceptualizing hegemonic mechanisms of regime change and assessing them empirically. Our findings are based on a multi-methods approach and highlight the varying importance of hegemonic influences in post-1945 Latin America. We argue that US support for democratization was consistent in the wave of transitions to democracy that began in Latin America in 1978 and that it was decisive in many of these transitions. While past work has attributed responsibility to the US for the waves of democratic breakdowns from 1948 to 1956 and 1964 to 1976, an examination of the 27 breakdowns from 1945 to 2010 gives reason to doubt this interpretation. Future research could use these conceptual and methodological tools to explore the role of other powers in waves of democracy and authoritarianism.
This post glows.

This game does make me think like a detective. The local union boss gave me a key to the house of a "weasel", asking me that if I unlock his door then he'll cooperate with me further. My partner and I theorize that the union boss wants our presence there as a show of power, to make people think he has the police on his side. When I went in, I realized a piece of evidence found in a trash container that few people can open originated from inside the apartment; that evidence is associated with the murder victim's clothes. This is an interesting lead, but doesn't it seem too convenient? Like all along, the union boss wanted me to make this connection.

Finally cut the body down. Kim managed to trust me with his gun and I shot it, pretty cool.

I've noticed that Composure and Half-Light together act sort of like a substitute for the high-intellect or empathy options. The game describes the Physical build as dumb as a rock, but he can be very street smart and quick-thinking.

This is one of those game's where I'm unhappy no matter what I choose for my stat distribution because there's so many possibilities.

I ended up choosing the 'Physical' template. I played a bit as the Intellectual but came to the conclusion that the protagonist is a bumbling unhelpful dick no matter his mind so I might as well be useful in a physical confrontation. Kim can do the real detective work.

I tried to sneak away from the bartender for my drinking tab and failed the dice roll, causing me to crash into the old wheelchair lady while throwing two middle fingers at him. What the fuck.

I went up to the Selenese supremacist, punched him in the face, then roundhouse kicked him. Surprised the game let me get away with that. It had a whole animation for the roundhouse kick and that was just one option.

I opened the secret compartment in my case notes and passed out. I guess that was my ex wife.

Still don't know my name but im processing the emotion of why I like the Cousteau pseudonym.
