I only watched the first 2 episodes. Does it become more frequent later?
From the wiki:
Ghost Stories was picked up for dubbing by ADV Studios in 2005. According to voice actor Greg Ayres, they were told to "do whatever it took to sell the show." The only condition was that the basic story and names of major characters and ghosts had to remain intact, but everything else was fair game. To that end, director Steven Foster reworked the show into a pure Gag Dub by throwing out nearly all of the original script. When the voice actors were called in to record scenes, whoever got there first would set the tone and subject for the scene, which meant the other cast members had to follow in those footsteps. This approach produced a dub full of random characterization, fourth-wall-breaking jokes, political and cultural references.

An alternative dub would later be produced by the anime television network Animax, which stayed true to the original, retaining all of the original Japanese plot, character and dialog details, broadcasting the series uncensored and unedited within its respective networks across the world, including Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
What if you're watching the redub? :o

I see, it might be a bit hard to participate in anything if you view everything as a limitation- I don't see that there would be any worthwhile activities for Stirner since anything you do ultimately just limits the Self. I imagine he has a list of things that aren't spooks, maybe?
Well spooks are higher concept than activities. Playing poker, even if that makes you a Poker Player, isn't a spook. Spooks are abstractions that people cede power to by believing in them.

Ironically, if someone body lived their life while being constantly preoccupied with avoiding possible 'spooks', to the detriment of their own happiness, that person would be under the influence of a spook.

Spooks are problematic when our believing them causes us to do irrational things that harm or limit us.

Private property is a spook because because there's no magic force or derive-able proof showing that someone has an immutable claim of owning something because they found it first or bought it. Stirner would say that in reality property is enforced afterwards with force, either personally or on your behalf by the state (ie police come if someone's vandalizing your cornfield or snatch your purse). But that doesn't mean it's a good idea to start stealing corn from people when you're hungry, because the state's violence is real whether or not it's spooky.

Identifying spooks is meant to be liberating rather than limiting, Stirner is just encouraging you to see the world through material consequences and not abstracted ideas.

Funny wrinkle in the history of philosophical dialogues: In Stirner's manifesto he concludes that revolutionary social movements are statist and anti-egoist because they intend to replace the original state with a new one. They don't solve the problems encountered by egoists because all the spooks still exist, just retooled to benefit the cause of the revolutionaries. Thus instead Stirner advocated an individual rejection of the state which he compared to Christ's actions before the crucifixion.

Marx was so incensed by the idea that he wrote more words in his critique against it than there exist in Stirner's entire lifetime body of work.

idk what a 'spook' is but I'm guessing something that doesn't really exist. i ain't gonna read it
Stirner has the idea that the "self" is indescribable, it can't be dissected. "Spooks" are constructions in the world by people that attempt to define individuals but instead just limit, diminish or control them. The ultimate spook is the idea of society itself.

Riker takes off the cover. Switch to a shot of legs wrapped in snakes. Switch back to Riker's face as he shoots out of bed.

I wonder if Jonathan Frakes used a body double for that scene? It is shot evasively enough to be possible. Then again the removal of the blanket looks like really consistent motion in both shots.

Wait, those probably aren't even real snakes lol. The sound mixing and editing of this scene is really, really good. This episode is just a treat.

Usually this would be some stupid bullshit, but this actually did happen to Cracked.

I wonder how much of it is to blame on that one writer who just constantly wrote articles about him being poor when he was a kid.
John Cheese was actually funny, though. I see a lot of people pin Cracked's fall on him but I found his articles a refreshing mix of personal insight and humor (maybe he overrelied on wrestling jokes a little lol).

In my eyes, Adam Tod Brown is the real face of the fall. Thats the guy who wrote "X ways Trump's campaign mirrors Hitler's rise to power," among other gems.
