Hold up. Troi beat Data in chess? What the goddamn fuck?

Can't he do trillions of calculations a second? There's no way that game hasn't been soft-solved in the 24th century.

It SEEMS simple, but all the stuff I see SEEMS simple, but then when I try drawing what appears to be simple, it ends up looking like garbage.
It can take a baby 18 months to learn to walk. that's just putting one leg in front of the other. You're trying to abstractify the visual spectrum into lines and then recreate it using a stick held between your fingers. It's not simple. But if you keep trying, over and over, you will get better.

All this image is really telling you is "draw males blockier". The girl has a rounded palm; the guy has a square palm. The girl's fingers smooth and stubby; the guy's are long and blocky.

When you break down the composition, there's actually not that many lines in this image. Your brain is seeing the image as more than the sum of its parts. TO tap into learning by observation you gotta keep breaking stuff down to components.

I used to dislike all beards. I would make topics telling everyone to shave (by the way, simply making a topic that says "shave your beard" is a more effective troll than any politics-bait). But Will Riker and Detective Costeau have changed my mind. Beards can be good.

Nobody in Starfleet is alienated from their labor. It's a voluntary org requiring vetting training and an academy and the people aboard a ship like the Enterprise, REALLY want to be there. Wherever they came from probably already had replicators and all the luxuries you could demand.

Also there's tons of scenes in Ten Forward the bar, or off-planet vacation shenanigans, etc. They have giant pleasure rooms that can imitate any scenario. There's multiple episodes where the whole premise is Picard playing out hard-boiled detective novels. And they play Poker.

Lots of leftist memes cited for being bad are either

1) boomer Hillary liberal memes, which aren't actually leftist (and have corresponding boomer Trump conservative memes)
2) "informative/teaching" in nature and thus become too longwinded.

Conservative memes often have an advantage in that they invite the easy way out in thinking. Creating outgroups (racial minorities, the poor, outsiders). Keeping the established rules. Seeing the raw numbers of a statistic and not thinking about correlation or material conditions leading to it.
