"One of those" what? Anyway, I'm reading that roll of toilet paper you posted and it reads like a PR press release for the US.

Take this section, for example:
To support democratizers, the US developed preferential relations with existing democracies and mobilized pro-democracy coalitions in the UN and the OAS. In turn, the UN and OAS could apply pressure (for example, diplomatic segregation) to reassure certain actors (for example, business elites) that the new democracy would be supported and guarantee Latin American militaries the continuity of military cooperation after democratization.

I might have overlooked it, but the paper doesn't define "democratization". After reading the above section, however, it's clear that there's something crooked about what they think of as "supporting democracy". Take the OAS, for instance, they were instrumental in the recent coup in Bolivia by making claims of election illegitimacy. Of course, they didn't say a word when the fascists took over. With how favorably this paper speaks of the OAS, it's fair to assume they'd count this subversion of democracy as "supporting democracy".

You'll have to tell us why we should use this paper for anything other than to wipe our asses with because the paper speaks of democracy like George W Bush claims to have brought democracy to the people of Iraq. Seriously, look at things like this:

As a general rule, when the US supported authoritarian regimes, it did so for strategic reasons, as a bulwark against a perceived communist threat during the Cold War

"yeah the US supported authoritarian regimes, but it's only for strategic reasons!" The bias is blatant.

You're not going to "prime anyone beyond pasting the abstract" because that's the only part you read and you take it at face value because it jives with your ignorant world view. This. And although the US has sometimes killed more civilians in conflicts than the regime they were trying to stop... well, actually, I can't think of a good follow-up to that. Seriously, fuck many of the US's interventions. And fuck the media for giving Obama a free pass on one-upping GWB in many cases and then focusing on Trump's twitter feed instead of keeping America informed about the US military's actions at that time.

note that they have footage of crowds of people standing unmoved and groups carrying lone wounded individuals for treatment but AFAIK no evidence that a tank actually fired a shell into a crowd or that "thousands" of people were killed

I get that this is a sensitive topic given China is an authoritarian regime but it would be nice to have any evidence whether by a handcam or sattellite of the up-to-10,000 deaths reported by some western governments

It also gets alleged that the "tank man" was "summarily executed" within days of the incident but there is not evidence of this either (wikipedia claims the claim comes mainly from an aide to Richard Nixon...), nor it is clear to me why China would hide such an execution if their goal is to demonstrate against counter-revolutionaries. Isn't the point of a Terror that people know to be afraid?

A Chinese state-backed human rights research organization is accusing the United States of a history of military interventions that it says have caused repeated humanitarian disasters.

The China Society for Human Rights Studies said in a new report published Friday, titled "Severe Humanitarian Disasters Caused by U.S. Aggressive Wars against Foreign Countries, that the U.S. has waged 201 armed conflicts among the total 248 that occurred in 153 regions of the world from the end of World War II in 1945 to 2001.

The group argued in the report that apart from being directly involved in wars, the United States has intervened in other countries' affairs by supporting proxy wars, inciting anti-government insurgencies, carrying out assassinations, providing weapons and ammunition, and training anti-government armed forces, which have caused serious harm to the social stability and public security of the relevant countries.

The foreign wars launched by the United States had resulted in disastrous consequences, including mass casualties, damage to facilities, production stagnation, refugee waves, social unrest, ecological crisis, psychological traumas and other complex social problems, the organization added.

The reports list of alleged cases of U.S. aggression date back to 1947, when the U.S provided military and economic aid to Greece, to former President Trumps opposition to Venezuelan President Nicols Maduro.

The report also cited the U.S.s historical involvement in global conflicts, including the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and in the conflicts in the Persian Gulf, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.

Choosing to use force irrespective of the consequences reveals the hegemonic aspirations of the United States, the report noted. Only by discarding the hegemonic thinking, which is chiefly motivated by self-interest, can we prevent humanitarian intervention from becoming humanitarian disasters.

The groups analysis comes amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and China, which continues to persist under the Biden administration following Trumps engagement in a trade war with Beijing, as well as calls from the former president for greater accountability from China for its early responses to the coronavirus pandemic.

The White House and lawmakers have condemned Chinas lack of transparency on its treatment of the Uyghur population in Xinjiang, with the U.S. continuing to levy sanctions on Chinese officials and firms in response.

On Thursday, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee introduced legislation that would impose additional sanctions on China over the treatment of the mostly Muslim Uyghur minority group in that country. The legislation would also support efforts promoting human rights in China, including the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong.

The draft measure, called the Strategic Competition Act of 2021, also highlights the need to prioritize the military investments necessary to achieve United States political objectives in the Indo-Pacific.

Are you saying china isn't committing genocide right now?

According to the UN human rights website, there is an allegation of detention of Uyghurs, but it has not been proven:

https://www.ohchr.org/EN/NewsEvents/Pages/DisplayNews.aspx?NewsID=26957&LangID=E

We are deeply concerned by these allegations which, if proven, would constitute grave human rights abuses, stated the Working Group on Business and Human Rights, one of eight UN independent human rights mandates to raise their concerns over treatment of members of the Uyghur minority.

Notice the words "allegations" and "if proven". An allegation is not proof of guilt.

China is innocent until proven guilty.
