How to open up and do pre-shooting, and normal shooting, is the million dollar question right now. Or billions of dollars question.

Been having some Zoom meetings with local peeps/the film unions about how to re-open filming, at least in NM. Lot of doom and gloom and uncertainty so far. Governor recently said filming would remain suspended for the time being, since our numbers have started to spike (the counties that border TX and AZ, which are mostly barren, are spiking hardest, so thanks worthless neighbor states).

I would expect content made during this time, when it even can be, to be shitty akin to the writer's strike. A lot of the creative process is going to have to be done remotely and on-the-fly. It'll make for interesting results, to say the least. I also know they did a Children of the Corn remake in Australia recently.

The solution to this is a better justice system, though.

You're not wrong, but you're hilariously deluded if you think simply voting third party will be enough to change that reality. If you want to make third parties into legitimate options, you're going to need to campaign for them hard. It's going to take a lot of money, a lot of effort, and it's going to be a miracle if you break even 5% of the popular vote, let alone anything remotely competitive. Talking online about self-fulfilling prophecies and the importance of disrupting the establishment accomplishes nothing except to let you pretend to yourself that you're doing something.
And even then, you'd still get a 2-party system, since the winning 3rd party would just replace the GOP or Dems. But that's not how FPtP voting works anyways.

What's really saddening is that no opinion poll on Trump, being general favorability or on specific issues ("Rate how he has handled Covid") has approval lower than about 30%. Which means you could Thanos-snap away that 30%, millions of people, and have a net-gain for humanity in America. It really is a cult.

But it also means that yeah more or less the 3DS is officially dead.
I mean, the writing has been on the wall basically since the Switch came out. Still a bit surprising, since there's definitely a market for people that don't want to lug something as big as a Switch around, either. But with mobile (cringe) games now a main-stay, it probably makes sense that the handheld gaming market isn't worth the time to tap into anymore. Nintendo focusing on Switch-only versions of Pokemon and FE, long-time handheld mainstays, basically shows where they stand on the idea.

It's kinda sad, though. I still get some love out of my 3DS from time-to-time, and the restrictions of handhelds lead to some innovative game designs. Hope that part at least continues. I'll also miss being able to take FE/Pokemon/Advance Wars easily wherever I wanted to.

I have a theory that out of the "Big 4" (rum, vodka, whisky, tequila), almost no one likes all 4. This is based off on me asking people a lot, and I don't believe I've ever met someone that likes them all. There's always one that's generally despised (for me, it's tequila).

Which brings up the point of how weird it is that taste can differ so greatly from person-to-person, and why that even is a thing at all.

Which, if nothing else, debunks the political motivation claim because by your own admission it makes things *worse*, not better.
I didn't say it was a *smart* move, and it's not mutually exclusive. Trump's entire presidency is nothing but a long list of him doing stupid shit that ends up hurting him. Hell, his poll numbers are in the garbage currently precisely because he can't help but dig himself a grave.

If the investigation stopped, you might be able to claim ethics. However, if it doesn't stop the investigation -- which you pointed out it doesn't -- you don't even have that leg to stand on.
It's an easy obstruction of justice charge at the least, and it doesn't matter if it was successful or not. If I try to murder you, but fail, i don't get off scott free. This is exactly what he was impeached over.

You mean the impeachment? The one where everyone on both sides agreed to the facts of what happened, agreed that it was an impeachable offense, but then the side that holds the majority voted against actually removing their party's leader from office because they "felt he'd learned his lesson"? Yeah, that cleared him of everything and totally means he wasn't guilty of it. That's how that works.

Also, for somebody so insistent that everyone else is an idiot who blindly accepts the official stories instead of seeking the truth that the government is hiding from them, you're awfully willing to take Trump's claims about the impeachment at face value. To say nothing of the fact that nobody whatsoever mentioned the impeachment before you did and that that just makes you look silly.

They have to know that it'll never cater to the high-brow, even medium-brow types. Keeping a stranglehold on the redneck market is not only smart, but basically it's only realistic option.

Banning the Confederate Flag is likely a win-win though. I'm sure they will lose some supporters, but not many, since where else are their fans going to turn? It's already the most redneck sport by a mile, and the least progressive.

Yes, those last systems sold like hotcakes, but the Quality of the games was questionable. Well, not the Wii U, that was trash.
The only way that will ever make any sense is if we admit the PS2 is the biggest failure of all time, since the amount of shovel ware and barely playable garbage basically started the idea of mass producing low-energy games for whatever console happened to be selling the hottest. But that would be silly, because like the PS2, the sheer volume of Wii games means there's likely some between Nintendo and their 3rd parties that will be enough to appease most.

It makes even less sense for the DS, seeing as how long it's legacy lasted, it's sales, and it's responsibility for hosting some new IPs, some that went on to be huge (Ace Attorney comes to mind), or breathing new life into other IPs that went on to become huge (Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, etc.). Hell, the assumption the DS line is dead stems from thinking Nintendo won't bother anymore now that the Switch fulfills the portable console need.

The Wii U, definitely a failure, mostly doomed by a terrible marketing scheme more than anything.

Random response to piggyback off of Zeus' Marvel TV spiel, it took me like 2 months to watch JJ1. I just couldn't get into it, the characters, and the super 1-D story. Like, I get the point that JJ is moody and unlikeable due to her history, but someone should have clued the showrunners in on how that still makes her un-fun to watch. Especially when it became a one-trick routine to have everyone question her on if she'd ever stop being a cold bitch.

I also remember the most excited I got with the show was when Kilgrave seems to honestly suggest that even he isn't aware sometimes when he's using his powers, and suggests he wasn't sure if he made JJ like him via powers, or naturally seduced her.
"What's this?", I thought. "An actual story telling dilemma? Could it actually be the case that Kilgrave is telling the truth, and that how he hurt JJ could have come from lack of control, and not malice? Would that threaten to upend JJ's entire life view up until this point? Is he just lying through his teeth?". But no, the show has JJ instantly discredit and ignore this idea, and it's never brought up again. The one chance it had to be complex or interesting to me went right out the window.
