Mongolia has had it for a long while.

This isn't something that can be eradicated, with most of the infection coming from tics.

Such xenophobic fear-mongering. The United States has multiple cases of bubonic plague every year. Also it isn't really a threat in the modern age because it is bacteria based and not viral, and can easily be killed/cured with antibiotics.

All three forms of plague, bubonic, pneumonic, and septicemic, are caused by the same bacteria, Yersinia pestis. Without treatment, bubonic plague has a 50% fatality rate; pneumonic and septicemic plague are nearly 100% fatal without treatment, however all three forms respond very well to treatment with common antibiotics such as streptomycin, doxycycline, or ciprofloxacin. Bubonic and septicemic plague are usually transmitted from the bite of an infected flea while pneumonic plague is usually the result of airborne transmission, which can be easily prevented with surgical masks.

He also apparently misread the sentence about centuries.

Yeah, CO and NM have the highest cases per year in the US (although that case amount is still very small). It's also very easy to cure these days.
