with a and b the sub still resurfaced on its own which again brings up the question if you think the thing they would have been capable of testing most thoroughly failed, why would you think the rest of it had not failed? And c was a different sub like 20+ years ago

I still don't know why people are thinking they were just sitting on the ocean floor for days. Like if you didn't have faith that the part of the sub they would have been able to test most thoroughly didn't work (rising back to the surface), why would you have faith that the rest of the sub would hold up especially after knowing their viewport was only rated to go a third of the way to the titanic

but alas if they weren't able to be found floating on the surface of the water, instantly imploding would have been the most humane way to go

good to hear, I was rather wary of reports of two vehicles being sent down and imploding that no one else had reported on

still there shouldn't be any reason for them to be stuck on the ocean floor unless all 7 fail-safes to bring them up to the surface failed. Cause if they're stuck on the ocean floor there's logistically no way to find them and bring them up with the ~day's worth of oxygen left

and again say what you want about the structural issues we've heard so far like the viewport only supposedly being strong enough to go a third of the way to the titanic, or safety/rescue methods prepared, the one thing they did appear to have multiple fail-safes for was returning to the surface even if they lost power. It just seems highly unlikely they're just sitting on the ocean floor intact

... yeah it feels like a lot of people thinking they're gonna find this van sized tin can in still intact on the bottom of the ocean and bring it to the surface in ~30 hours just have no idea how the deep ocean works at all

not really. First off, just finding this submersible in the ocean would be like finding a hay in a needlestack just because of how dark it is, then I don't think anything they sent down to find it would be as properly equipped as it should to be able to hoist it back to the surface. However supposedly the ballasts that weigh it down are supposed to dissolve within 16~24 hours so it should automatically float back up to the surface if it isn't entangled in anything. However the submersible has no beacon to signal where it is and it's unable to be opened from the inside

so hopefully they're floating around on the ocean surface waiting to be rescued before they run out of air, I think that's honestly the only shot for rescuing survivors

don't think this video of a walkthrough of the sub by the now missing CEO stockton rush has been posted yet. This just looked so macgyvered together. The 1 tiny viewport is in front of the toilet, if you need to use it they put up a curtain and play loud music, there's no seats, no handles, nothing else inside except 2 touchscreens, another screen and the submersible is controlled with a logitech controller...
