If they show no other sign of hostility, you might be able to try to feed them together as feeding together will build positive experience. Maybe do it in the same room, but with some distance.

Seems like it's going relatively well.

overall yeah things improve by the day. Went home for lunch and let the kitten out and they spent like 30 minutes chasing each other around the house. Tried feeding together when 1st introducing but resident cat wanted nothing to do with getting too close to the kitten, she might be more receptive now though

so anyway we've had our new kitten for 30 days now, we got him at 3 months old and he's a Bengal (pretty sure). We kept him separated from the resident cat (female 2.5yr tabby) for a week before letting them meet. Resident cat tolerates him but always hisses at him if he gets too close and will sometimes bop him once on the head if he gets within arm's reach

he seems to just be playing and will try to chase her around a lot, sometimes she chases him back. They both have litterbox and food in different rooms, but the kitten likes to eat her food and use her litter box and she will just watch him, and they hang out more now

It is so you don't blast car exhaust into an open window. I lived in a place where you could park literally right front of the building all that separated the front of the apartment and the parking lot was a sidewalk. So if some one parked in front of your apartment backed in and let their car run for a while you would get an apartment full of car fumes. Even in the winter people would let their cars warm up and the fumes would get in through the door cracks. I guess you could even die if some let their car run long enough.
