If that submarine kept sinking deeper and deeper down, they're most likely dead in a gruesome fashion, even if they had a month of oxygen left.

I said earlier in the thread. I believe the air malfunctioned early in. So they are already dead. My guess one of 2 things happened it went deeper and crashed on the sea bed. Or that its still running, it would eventually hit something.

pretty sure that sub is there tomb after 12 pm thursday its to late they still havent found it rip hope the families sue tbh

TBH they're already dead even if they find the whole sub. A rescue operation isn't going to be possible in 20 hours from the bottom of the ocean.

Yea. Im surprised the company didnt think to have two submersibles 1 for the tours and one in-house to be their own rescue. The news seems to be saying only 3-5 other submersibles in the entire world can go down to the where the Titanic is and take weeks to get ready. So I dont know what was the backup plan if they got stuck at bottom.

After reading all about this company for the past day, I am not even a little surprised the company didn't think to do this.

Every expert told the company it was a bad idea. But Mr. CEO, who said that regulations stifle innovation, built his submersible from parts he found at Home Depot, and the porthole glass wasn't rated for the depth. He could have gotten porthole glass that would, but that was expensive.

Dude also had wireless controllers as the controls, and we all know that wireless bluetooth always works.

So yes, because making a buck was much more important to him than keeping people alive, even when it came to himself.

It has no search and rescue attributes so I guess it is just to find out where it is then. As far as I have read, they have no way of bringing it up or saving the people if they are still alive.

Arguably they'd care more. There's a lot of mockery being thrown around because all the people on board were extremely affluent and the CEO of OceanGate was a big time GOP donor.

It hasn't been confirmed whether or not they are alive or dead. It's important to still locate the sub (or what remains of it) as it is still useful knowledge to learn what happened and if bodies can be recovered then the families can have a proper funeral.

Plus it's important to determine if they are alive or not so families can benefit from life insurance payouts.

No, and thats what makes me angry. Whether these people are wealthy or not I have empathy for their situation and cannot imagine the agony they are possibly going through if they are even still alive. But its also a display of obscene wealth, arrogance, and stupidity, both can be true. But if they were in fact just regular people it would a a side article somewhere like the migrant story. Lets face it we put rich people on pedestals and spout off bullshit slogans like like they are "our best and brightest". It feeds their egos and they get idiotic plans like this. If this were regular people this wouldn't have even been mentioned until days later in an off hour news dump.
