Finn in TLJ: I gotta run away cause Im a coward and leave as soon as I wake up (proceeds to have the same exact arc he already had in TFA)

If youre going to complain, at least use examples that make sense, because youre straight up wrong about that lol. Finn is one of the only characters in TLJ that makes realistic decisions.

In TFA Finn is never portrayed as a brave hero. His first actions are to run away from the First Order, then he literally spends the rest of the movie begging Rey to not go back to Jakku nor to join the Resistance, and even takes up an offer to get transported to the Outer Rim and away from the action. The only reason he fights with the Resistance at the end, is to rescue Rey, because all he cared about was his friendship with her.

In TLJ him trying to run away from the Resistance in order to save Rey, is in character for an abundance of reasons. His cowardice was shown ever since the first movie.

But sure, lets act like TFA showed him as a bold hero that never tried to run away from the action.

If anything, the only time it doesnt make sense is in TROS, however time has past and hes already been in the shit with the Resistance and on several missions for them so by then hes grown into the hero he was supposed to be.

It seems to me that people who went into it wanting to hate it hated it. Most other people enjoyed it.

I thought it was phenomenal, although I had just gotten done watching the Prequel Trilogy with my girlfriend in preparation so I think most competent movies would have seemed phenomenal by comparison.

The prequels told a far more coherent story compared to the sequels and thats saying something. The only bad things about the prequels were that George Lucas wrote the script himself instead of using someone who actually understood how humans speak to one another, and Hayden Christiansen and Natalie Portmans performances. Like hire real script writers to work with Georges story and two actors who actually cared a fraction of what Ewan McGregor cared, and youd have the best SW trilogy by far.

The sequels have better acting but really suffer from identity crisis.

I loved that theme. Ive always been partial to the Arkham Origins theme as well. Especially about 44 secs in when they sneak in the Christmas theme due to the season in which the game takes place.

Ill take Knight over Spider-man any day. The MJ and Miles missions straight up killed the pace every time, and the story missions consisted of maybe 3 different types of things. Stealth, enemy waves, and canned chase sequences. Ill take the bad Batmobile sections over that repetitive nature.

Some things have grown on me, namely Kylo and Reys story arc. But that still doesnt outweigh the trash tier writing of Rose, Holdo, and everything involving the Canto Bight subplot. Not to mention the insult to what Luke Skywalker used to be in terms of his convictions, and how horribly they treated Poe and Hux. Then theres Snokes waste of an existence. Beyond that I just genuinely hate the themes the movie shoves in your face. The repeated failure theme is so hammered in that literally nothing succeeds as planned in the entire movie. Nothing. You just dont write a movie like that, lol. All it is, is endless subversion, which is pretty stupid. Lastly I hate the anyone can be a hero theme it has going on, because thats clearly Disney trying to modify the entire Star Wars story to fit their general themes. SW has always been about Destiny whether the prequels or OT.

but the movie was pretty, I guess, save for the Marry Poppins effects for Leia.

Id honestly put it below every other SW movie except maybe episode 2.

Just going in a different direction now. Aquaman, Wonder Woman 84, Shazam, Suicide Squad 2, Birds of Prey, all still connected albeit loosely. They arent going the old DC route of every movie being literally connected like MoS-Justice League since nobody cared about them.

I dont understand these is the DCEU dead topics that keep popping up considering we had two movies come out back to back in the winter last year and early this year, and a trailer drop for Birds of Prey where its clearly connected to what weve seen of her in Suicide Squad, also James Gunns Suicide Squad cast being announced and bringing back most cast members.

The Russos obviously hate Thor is the worst thought process in existence considering he was arguably the main hero of Infinity War, treated as a total monster in that movie and they clearly made him the strongest Avenger, and gave him THE centerpiece Avengers moment in the movie, and honestly, are the only directors to treat Thor as the epic and powerful god hes supposed to be (Taika being a close second, but Whedon and whomstever made Thor 1 and 2 had no idea how to portray Thors powers).

Theyve even clearly stated IWs story revolved around Thor. Endgame was about Cap and Ironman since theyre the ones leaving the MCU. Were getting more Thor, he didnt need a farewell tour.

Minimaps have become ubiquitous in FPS games.

Counter-Strike has minimaps. Battlefield has had minimaps since forever (and enemy marking / spotting since at least Battlefield 2, though people were idiots and didn't know how to use it, I will never forget my frustrating experiences seeing teammates get mowed down by someone who was clearly marked on the map).

does R6 Siege have a minimap? No, and it works just fine. In fact, you actually have to learn the maps and use call outs (via in game options or mics). Its amazing what can happen when the game doesnt hold your hand.

What pisses me off is that when the alpha was released it was apparent they had slowed down the movement and increased recoil a bunch. People cried because they couldnt 50 yard dash across the map in 5 seconds so they retuned everything. Then the beta came out and people bitched about the lack of a minimap. So they conceded and added the minimap back.

Literally made the mistake of preordering the game because of how fresh and different it felt and then people complained so much PRE LAUNCH that theyve taken drastic measures to appease them and get rid of so many factors that made the game feel different.

The game went from feeling like a new game with CoD mechanics, back to just being another CoD game. Its INSANE how afraid CoD fans are of change. Everything has to be about bunny hopping and slide kills while following dots on a minimap. Ridiculous.

On a serious note, I have, numerous times, and a lot of the issues dont get better. I grew to actually like Rey and Kylos dynamic. Thats about it. I still think Lukes story is ass cheeks. I still think the way they represented Leias force usage is ridiculous. I still think Holdo is a genuinely unlikable character and do not understand why they insisted on making both Poe and Holdo flagrantly wrong. I still think Rose is the worst character in Star Wars. I still think Canto Bite is the worst scene in Star Wars. I still hate the overall theme of failure and expectation subverting. You just dont write a movie where literally every plot line is pointless and leads to failure. The movie begins and ends with the Rebels on the run. There is no difference.

I have no alt-right ignorance so stop pretending thats what its about. I like Finn and think Finn is a better character in TLJ. I think Finn and Poe should be a couple. I think Rey is a better character in TLJ but still a Mary-Sue. I think Leia is a genuinely great strong female character and wish they went her route when created more. Also Rose is definitely fat.

I want to say that theres likely some kind of loophole that could allow them to use Miles considering he was created much much after the sale, possibly as long as they change the hero name or something, but thats just me speaking out my ass. I would think that its possible considering the loophole used for them to include Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, despite them being X-Men characters.

My wife and I went to get stuff to use when we mess around and I ended up getting a fleshlight because Ive never used one and she thought it was funny and said why not. Great Migration 2 would happen pretty much immediately in the timeframe between "GTFO, south!" and when the south actually GTFOs.

It would have to happen, but I guarantee just like the last time, not everyone would have the means to do it and will be stuck there and have to live with it.

I visited for about 4 days a few months ago and had the time of my life. We saw some major attractions but spent most of the time going to local food joints and stuff that we found online. I was surprised at how easy everything was from the subway, to how nice most people were. I had always expected people to be more asshole ish but maybe they just seemed nice because everyone is a shit head in Baltimore.

(Edit): The only real complaint I had was that one night there was a homeless man in a wheelchair just riding the subway all day and you could smell him sitting in his own shit from the next car over

If anything, based on raw numbers and resources, The First Order is the "Rebellion" and the Republic is the "Empire".

There's no way TFO could be any more than, at VERY BEST, 5-10% of the population of the New Republic. And even that would be extremely unlikely to go unnoticed.

The vast majority of their troopers were children taken from the Outer Rim. Its always been canon that the Outer Rim is almost lawless and things like slavery run rampant despite it being illegal in the Republic. A bunch of kids being kidnapped would just be looked at in the same way it already was looked at in the Outer Rim, just another occurrence. Theres a reason it took the first order almost 30 years to begin open conflict.

Besides that, thats the reason they used Starkiller base to destroy the Senate and all of the key planets of the Republic, now theyre the only people with a full military force.

So while, yes, in TFA the First Order was acting as a Rebellion, they became the reigning Empire about halfway through the movie when there was no one else left to claim to be the majority.

I played it and got idk maybe 10-15 hours in and then started playing something else. I enjoyed it while I played it but when I tried to hop back on I couldnt remember how to play and I was playing on hard so when I hopped back on I got wrecked by enemies lol. If I get back into it Id have to restart just to remember how the game plays, and I hate restarting games.

Like I dont necessarily believe what you pointed out to be a huge issue, but logically wouldnt they notice prominent Imperial officers go missing? Thats like if after WW2 and after the Nuremburg Trials, a bunch of prominent Nazis happen to go missing and then you dont bother searching for them, lol.
