There is no game that offers a better complete experience of story, world, characters, gameplay, graphics in my eyes.

No of course its not perfect by any means but I think without question, across the board its easily the best game Ive ever played.

I tend to agree. I felt the game could use a couple more really good boss fights.

there were many, many moments where I was anticipating it and then surprisingly just walked away where any other game would have thrown Boss fight in there

In a way its kind of refreshing. There is such a thing as too many bosses, and a lot of games can get bogged down and feel tedious that way where you just dread completing anything because there will be an annoying boss fight at the end.

Thats why I say it only needs a couple more to help the pacing in just some key areas but keep the quality and challenge in tact with them.

They overuse the ogres or whatever theyre called too, though.

Great game. Overrated though. God of War 2 is still the best.

Good game. Over rated in its combat, I'd say.

Combat of all things? Spicy take my friend.

The combat feels so goddamn good to me. Switching between your weapons and fists, blocking attacks in perfect timing, throwing your axe, freezing one dude, beating up another. Pulling your axe back and unleashing this flurry. Man, it hits so so good.

His interactions with Pandora in 3 and his daughter in the Elysium Fields from Chains of Olympus shows that he always cared about family. He's just had plenty of time to reserve himself since GoW 3.

everything is done with the "ooh ahh" factor in mind which is fine and works great if the game is a one and done linear progression deal like previous GoWs. however, it's absolute crap when you design your game with extensive amounts of backtracking in mind.

hell, HLTB has the completionist category at 50 hours with the main story being 20. the majority of those hours towards completionist is pretty much spent getting to your objective.

Well yes, but people suddenly think this was the first game to develop his character when he was already pretty interesting in the trilogy. If people only saw an angery Spartan that's because that's all they wanted to see

My only problem with it gameplay-wise was that by the end of the game you're just spamming runic attacks left and right to insta kill everything. It's kinda boring. Maybe they shouldn't have given the blades runic attacks and just given them a ton of melee damage to compensate <________<

Still, I loved it. Enough to beat it on GmGoW and get every trophy which I only ever bother doing for games I truly loved.

Edit: Oh yeah, The leveling mechanic is also kinda stupid imo. It makes gear not matter outside of what level it is to boost Kratos' overall power level (lol). So if you get some shiny new piece of armor with good buffs on it, and then find a shitty generic one that's higher level you always have to equip the latter. It's so weird. And if you don't, you run into higher level enemies that tank hard and one shot you with enough of a level gap. The entire level system needs work tbh.

You legit think that travel time makes up that much time in this game? I think thats insane to even begin with.

The world is not that large to begin with. Idk what youre on but Im willing to bet you cover more ground faster than walking in the boat, so your point about being slow is nonsense. Speaking of time in the boat though. I did notice the other day while playing that the animation for getting in and out of the boat is something special.

Pushing the boat into the water or getting in from a a dock, Kratos and the boi In and he takes Mimir off/onyour belt You get the oars and you row away. It doesnt sound like much on paper but all the little details that go into just thats one animation and how quick it is is incredible to me. I realized that for being something you do In the game a lot, a lesser game could easily be bogged down for having a really shitty, long animation every time. I like little details like this.

But more to the point about traveling. I just think youre out too lunch. Im currently in the backtravel stage of the game and for the most part I was pretty thorough with my initial exploration of each area but its inevitable so I am doing a fair bit of it. And its REALLY not that bad. Like the fast travel is maybe a couple minutes at worst and and at best Im learning a lot of interesting lore tidbits along the way. Which is faaaaar better than sitting on some loading screen reading little blurbs.and the game is just fucking gorgeous and like I said once youve seen it all, it doesnt feel that big.

Fast travel is good, but the bosses suck (ESPECIALLY for a fricking God of War game) and theres no replayability. The story kinda just spins in circles and doesnt really go anywhere, along with obviously being a setup for the sequel.

Its definitely a great game, but this aint as good as it gets.

I have it but it makes my PS4 run too loud it hurts my ears

My only complaint is that the valkyrie Queen is too hard. And I was playing on normal. Tried way too many times to get it done.

Yeah, they definitely wrote it with sequels in mind to ramp up the threat, but like...yeah. They could've come up with other bosses that didn't involve gods, I think. The dragon fight was cool though.

I'm in the middle of the game right now. I can only travel to broks shop. I can't travel from any other one to another though. What am i doing wrong?

For what its worth I did the same thing played a decent bit and then shelved it for months before restarting.

Im glad I restarted it because it ended up being a truly amazing experience once I was able to get enraptured by it.
