It just has everything I love about the character. Peter is an incredibly nice and funny guy who has the weight of the world on his shoulders. He makes the right choices but he also suffers the consequences of having to be the person to make him. He has his close friends but overall he's alone and isolated.

Peter has that underdog spirit of the Raimi movies and has the charm and humor of the MCU Spidey too. I don't find anything missing or lacking. The voice actor is also fantastic.

I'm honestly more hyped for Spider-Man 2 than the third MCU Spider-Man.

either PS4 or Into the Spider-Verse Spider-Man, for me.

it's cool to see a Spider-Man who has been around long enough to be confident in his abilities and also take on a mentor role.

I get why MCU Spidey is the way he is. They almost seem afraid to retread the plot beats and they're tying him into Stark and the Avengers heavily instead.

But I dunno. Something about it just loses a major part of the character to me.

Meanwhile Insomniac Spidey manages to retain all of the classic stuff while also incorporating new stuff like Miles Morales and Mister Negative while also making some major changes with how events and things play out and it all feels totally natural.

The big problem with every other Spider-Man portrayal is they're always "newbie fresh on the scene" Peter Parker. Even in the Raimi movies, three films deep he's having very "I still can't balance my life whatsoever" early-spidey plotlines.

Game Peter is in the thick of it and while he has a lot of ups and downs as he traditionally does, he mostly lets it roll of his back. It's a beyond refreshing change of pace, especially for someone that's read a lot of Spider-Man and is tired of the same thing repeated.

Spectacular Spider Man is the best.

I'm not a big fan of VA they got for the Spider man PS4 game, so I never got it.

I like young Spider-Man so that's not really my thing. Ultimate Spider-Man is great.

It's more that the connections MCU Peter give him a massive advantage compared to other depictions. Peter often seems like a guy who would succeed a lot more if he wasn't Spider-Man but he makes that sacrifice regardless but MCU Peter seems more like someone with a crazy life who just wants to be normal. Everyone important knows and has his back.

Eh, I have issues with how unconcerned Peter seems about being Spider-Man in the MCU.

But the whole "no consequences" thing is overblown. Peters main consequences for being Spider-Man often were pissing his friends off due to him blowing off social engagements out of a responsibility to do Spider-Man stuff and being dirt poor cause he has no time to work.

You can't really do the dirt poor thing when he's a kid.

Yeah the no consequences thing is an over-exaggeration for sure. But there are differences with how they're handled.

In Ultimate Spider-man Norman Osborne was this extremely threatening presence that loomed over his life. He had no power over it. He had no one to call. Norman knew everything about him.

Then when SHIELD enters his life they outright say he will be their property when he becomes an adult. He gets bitten by a spider and his life spirals out of control because of it.

MCU Spidey more has to deal with the consequences of Tony Stark and The Avengers. It's just a very different dynamic.

I get why they do it. MCU doesn't want to retread the same stuff. Hell we don't even know anything about Uncle Ben or where the spider bit him IIRC.
