No it's not, it's just being realistic. I vote in primaries, promote candidates I hope will make a change, vote for ballot proposals that further great causes, etc, but I'm not stupid enough to think I can realistically fight against billions of dollars of opposition.

That's the critical point that diehard democrats don't understand. In 2016, the key issue was *CHANGE*. People's situations weren't great (and aren't great now either) but we had two candidates, one claiming everything is fine and the other saying that he's going to "drain the swamp". Now, of course he's a liar, but people will take their chances if they don't like their current situation, even if it potentially means a worse situation. That's how dictators rise. People are sick and tired of the bad status quo and take their chances with change.

If someone doesn't want to support genocide, what options do they have under our "democracy"?

These particular group of individuals never liked Biden, didnt vote for him in 2020 and were never gonna vote for him in 2024. Even if Biden immediately did everything they wanted when it came to the Gaza crisis, they would just move the goalposts and start shrieking about the next thing theyre outraged at about him. The US has lost any bit of credibility they may have had when it comes to morality on the global stage (this was obvious to anyone paying even the least bit of attention for decades, but these current actions are so obviously morally-bankrupt that even the most ignorant should be able to recognize this). To think, I got modded multiple times for daring to say that the US's backing of Ukraine wasn't for moral reasons. Since then, this blatant campaign of genocide has been happening with full support from the US and the same people who were screaming at me about morality are defending biden with all their might with every excuse under the sun (while still thinking they're arguing from a position of morality).

It should also be obvious by now to everyone that the US doesn't have democracy. If your only two options fully support genocide, a crime so heinous that we've all supposedly agreed that those perpetrating it should be tried in international court and imprisoned for the rest of their lives, then it should be obvious that your choices don't actually matter because there are more powerful elements at play than the vote you can submit once every couple or so years.

The system is a cruel sick joke and I'm tired of "moderates" supporting genocide while at the same time insisting that we can work within the system to change it. After the campaign of genocide is completed, these same people will shrug their shoulders, say it was regrettable, and claim nothing could have been done.
