SpawnShadow 04/03/24 4:32:41 PM #12:	[LFAQs-redacted-quote] Perhaps when stuff like this happened before the "Ugly Sonic" debacle, the execs figured that the hardcore fans would watch it anyway, regardless of how much they complained, and that the redesign was done to cater toward people in the focus groups who weren't already in the fanbase (with their criticisms of the original design being focused on too much in the redesign phases), in a cynical attempt to maximize profits by getting as many people in to see it as they could, only for it to backfire hard with Sonic when it turned out that a lot of people (both fans and non-fans alike) were utterly disturbed by the resulting uncanny valley abomination?
