It is practically mandatory for Alaskans. The two day shipping becomes 3 or 4 but the savings on shipping costs is clutch.

Considering my items were consistently not showing up within 2 days, and Amazon Prime blows, I'm glad I dropped Prime. Music Unlimited on the other hand, I'll probably never get rid of that.

I dont stream. I was always a prime member specifically for the 2 day free shipping. I used to order regularly from Amazon like 15 years ago. I ordered my dog food through Amazon I couldnt get locally. It was top tier, cheaper, and this was also when Amazon didnt charge me tax. I was ordering food like every 6 weeks.
In between I would usually buy a few games a month, books, movies, music CDs. I was ordering very regularly. These days I hardly ever order anything so its probably not truly really worth it to me but I still have it though.
