Toby Maguire is honestly hard to watch, the worst parts being any with him and Kirsten Dunst together. They have negative chemistry together unfortunately. No one in those movies feel like real human beings. But I and most still love them because nostalgia. He was able to evolve the character beyond Spider-Man 2 in the right ways, and he found some good nuance in giving Otto a sense of reflection in the screentime he had so that it felt like, of all of these characters, he was the one to really change. I mean, I wasn't, though - I UNDERSTOOD what was happening and that was kind of enough for me to be like, wow, that's super cool! They brought in all these guys and it all made just enough logical sense that it worked. Side note it reaffirmed my inclination that Garfield Spiderman is probably actually my favorite Spiderman and he got hosed by his movies just not being as good as the other two Spidermen.
