Offense is good, like I said it would be.

1-2 best pitching combo in baseball held up. Now lets see how that shakier 3-5 does. But man we are making the Cardinals look silly and they have a really scary looking lineup. And Martinez/Wacha are no pushover pitchers. Their bullpen def needs some work.

Like I've said all along- the Mets when healthy are extremely scary, and this year, it really feels like they can be healthier than they usually are. That may not say much, but its all they need. If they're less injured than 2016? Hoo boy look out.

Harvey looked great tonight. Not fully up to what he could be, but great job in bad conditions and a very nice looking line of 5 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 5 K. He won't ever be his old self again, since he had the shoulder surgery (not the TJ), but he was getting lots of swing and misses on high 93 MPH fastballs. Whatever works. I don't think you'll see him hit 97-98 ever again though. Don't need to throw hard if you get guys outs with your stuff. Slider still is great.

Seth Lugo awesome in relief, after losing his start to snow. Think his stuff will play in relief or starting. He has the MLB record for like... best (highest? lowest? I always forget) spin rate on his curve. Where Kershaw is second best.

Good 2-0 win over the Phillies, though offense was a little deady.

Jose Reyes fucking sucks though. Bucknered a ball, and got caught stealing 2nd with 2 outs and the pitcher up (Harvey proceeded to single in his AB though so go figure). Mets pitchers have a couple hits already. Don't want this guy on my team anymore.

I don't think it helps or hurts, people have been doing this stuff for years. I don't think anyone has ever turned away the increased money and exposure because they don't want to deal with the press/fanbase. I do think it is ridiculous though. It's not like he needed a reminder that he needs to do his job.

Yeah. That's the downside to seeing your team suddenly becoming a contender again. Lots of fraud corporate fan-types acting like they are entitled to 10-run blowouts every game.

yankees fans booing stanton in his home opener is the most typical thing I've ever heard. I'd say Yankees fans don't deserve him, but - no. Actually yeah. They don't. I don't care what kind of day he's had. Show some appreciation.

The facebook broadcast of the Mets-Phillies game was an unmitigated disaster. I only caught bits and pieces bc of a doctor's appt in the middle of it, but it was plagued by glitches/broadcast stuttering, bad announcing (from 2/3 guys I usually like), no rain delay entertainment, and the worst and most intrusive scorebug stuff I've ever seen (at least they didn't have a K-Zone). Don't force this as THEONLY OPTION. Let the local broadcasts stand on their own legs. No one wants to deal with this national broadcast/terrible streaming bullshit. God. I assume none of you watched it, but just wait til your team is due up for it, sheesh. At least it was only vs the Phillies.

It was re-aired on the Mets local affiliate at 8pm last night- its an exact replica of what the stream looked like. They eventually got rid of thewasted blue space box on the left. And the top bar was used to occasionally flash batter or pitcher stats. But really the graphics took up like half the screen too often.

Clarity on rendon getting tossed:

Crew chief Joe West said there was more to the Rendon ejection than just that pitch. On the pitch before, Rendon had walked out of the box and not gotten back in there. Foster had asked him to do so and he didnt. Then when he threw the bat, Foster thought he had to act.
