DeGrom is going to go on the DL after all, exactly as I knew he would (and should). He says he feels perfectly fine and there's nothing wrong so it's just precautionary and only needs to miss one start. The question is the Mets are playing so badly right now they could've really used it but this is much safer long term (also very metsy for not doing this sooner to not waste A roster spot and give the fillin starter time to prepare. They literally just changed their minds today)

Mets lose.
the mets are 17-15. they started 11-1.
the offense is nonexistant.

the defense is bad also.

the pitching and bullpen is also bad but it doesnt matter when theyre good, theyre not good enough.

this team is just plain bad. and its because they had a DREADFUL offseason. Frazier was a good signing and Asdrubal was a good extension choice, but not addressing 1B/SP/RP/C needs has been a disaster. Cespedes and Conforto slumps have not helped. Not using Nimmo properly has also been bad. Gonzalez and Vargas are fucking awful. Rosario needs to live up to his top prospect hype. How come everyone elses top prospect succeeds and flourishes highly and ours fucking suck??

Not to mention the injuries are starting to creep, even if they only causes missed games here and there- its still missed games. Cespedes got hurt again, probably will need a couple days, that'll hurt. deGrom missing a start is better for long term but sucks cuz we need him now. etc. At least the injurt situation is better than years past but its still an issue, but the bl is the Mets are just bad. Thats it. They need help in multiple areas.
