On the other hand, it's a good reminder for him that this isn't Miami and we expect serious production. I don't think it helps or hurts, people have been doing this stuff for years. I don't think anyone has ever turned away the increased money and exposure because they don't want to deal with the press/fanbase. I do think it is ridiculous though.
