Ivonova is the second-in-command of the space station Babylon 5, a space station that desperately needed her leadership until the actress wanted too much money and mysteriously disappeared without a goodbye episode.

Rarely, there exist waifus who are perfectly normal-looking, who are neither beautiful nor ugly, but who cannot ever increase or decrease the attractiveness of their appearance. Ivonova is such a waifu. She’s simply a little below average, but Babylon 5 dresses her up many, many, many times in an attempt to make her beautiful. The sad truth is that Claudia Christian is simply not an attractive woman. The picture I used is the hottest Ivonova ever appears on-screen, and that includes when she’s in a dress trying to look good.

Maybe I’ll get attacked for this, but I never found Ivonova to be compelling. She’s kind of a *****, in fact, like when she chews out Garibaldi for misusing station equipment while she misuses station equipment herself (admittedly to talk to her sick father without people knowing). She’s always cracking jokes that are just not funny at all, mostly about Russia. And she strings a perfectly nice guy along for like two seasons instead of just accepting or rejecting him. Now, all of this is balanced out by her loyalty, bravery, intelligence, and level head while under pressure, but speaking purely for waifu purposes, Ivonova is slightly below par.

As for her PWC, she has all of the problems I just talked about (I do not want to be a knockoff Jedi strung along for two years only to sacrifice myself for her and have her cry about it) plus the fact that she’s military and works on a space station days away from Earth. I’ve never had a long distance relationship, but I imagine that’s about the worst it gets.

All-in-all, I’m not into Ivonova. She’s an excellent officer and warrior, but as a waifu, sadly lacking.

They had a ton of screen time together. He was always following her around, and she avoided telling him not to or accepting him. Even she admitted after he died that she should've "boffed him at least once."

Man, Ivanova's the best. She's in the series finale, though, so that's kind of a goodbye episode. (Yes, I realize it was filmed ahead of the rest of Season 5, but still, it aired last!)

She does string Marcus around like crazy, but she's got so many of her own issues to take care of that I can forgive her. I think she has a great arc, it's just a shame she hops aboard that ship in 4x21 instead of taking over B5 in the final season.

The main character of her game, Asagi is an anti-demon ninja who lost both of her parents. So this is a Batman situation? Okay. I was unable to find any information on Taimanin Asagi, but googling it did give me links to Pornhub, so I’m forced to assume that it’s a hentai.

There’s such a thing as having boobs that are just too big. I’m sorry, I know it’s heretical, but I have no choice. It’s true and you know it. That said, Asagi is otherwise a pretty solid-looking waifu.

Personality-wise, she’s loyal, ingenious, and heroic, which are all okay traits.

But it’s her PWC that sinks her. Here’s an excerpt from the only paragraph I could find about her: “she believes that her duties always take priority and thus regards lovemaking as strictly taboo.”

If she had a more flexible code, I could imagine Asagi being a decent waifu. As it is, however, I cannot. Maybe she’ll have better luck with someone else.

Candice is a character from Bleach, which of all the big shonen genre shows (DBZ, YYH, One Piece, Naruto) is by far the one I know the least about. I know it has something to do with spirit hunters or something? I know the main character has red hair. I know that for sure. I’ve never watched One Piece or Naruto either, but I still know at least a little more about them.

There’s no getting around this: Candice is insanely hot. I’m not normally into short shorts and whatever scraps of cloth she’s got on her boobs, but she pulls it off for sure. This is legit one of the hottest anime chicks I’ve ever seen, and she even manages to work a lightning theme into her hair and eyebrow style. That shows dedication. It’s just a shame about everything else.

Personality-wise, Candice has a short temper, is easily angered, curses a lot, and hates having her appearance ruined during a fight. So she’s a vain jackass. Charming, really. From what I read, she even ruined a chance to kill the main character by charging in and forcing her group to abandon its more carefully laid-out plan.

She’d be low on the PWC no matter what, but I found a quote of hers saying that she wakes up “hours” before everyone else to make sure her hair is styled properly. Let me tell you, my sister pulled that kind of **** too, always hogging the bathroom, and it’s not pleasant. You think my apartment has more than one bathroom? Let me tell you, it sure as hell does not. I’m not putting up with that.

Sorry, Candice. You’re hot as hell, but that’s all you are.

Suruga is a character in Monogatari who has a sentient left arm and purple hair. Only one of these things is considered unusual in anime.

So, no getting around it, Suruga is pretty. She benefits a lot from what I’m going to call “generic anime attractiveness,” where almost any female anime character looks good unless they have an unusual animation style. What can I say? It’s a medium that produces attractive people easily.

As for her personality, Suruga seems like a decent enough girl, “boyish” but alright. I docked her a lot of points because she’s “immature,” “polite but inconsiderate,” and most importantly, her subconscious wish to harm people she’s jealous of. Apparently she makes some kind deal with a demon? Even if I misread that, I’m still not into this.

As for her PWC, she seems alright, but her interests are “lolicon, masochism, fujoshi, basketball, and being a lesbian.” I’m not really into any of these things? Sorry. I even had to look up what fujoshi means.

Overall, I’d say that she’d probably reject me, given that she’s apparently a lesbian.

Xenosaga came out when I was fourteen. I hadn’t played many non-Nintendo RPGs at that point, so it became sort of my default JRPG. Whenever I think of this genre, I think of Xenosaga and the hot, steaming mess that is its convoluted, pretentious excuse for a plot. God, I remember thinking “they’re referencing the Bible, how deep.” My only consolation is the knowledge that all fourteen year-olds are idiots.

You’re all free to disagree with me on this, but I don’t find KOS-MOS to be hot. It doesn’t help that the games changed art style constantly, but even when I set out to find the hottest picture of her, she’s still just okay. Shion looks better, even. KOS-MOS is just another generic anime chick. She even has blue hair! That’s like the default joke anime hair color.

KOS-MOS’ software (personality) emphasizes logic, logic, and logic. I remember early on in the first game, Shion says to help her or she’ll commit suicide, and KOS-MOS is like “***** do you really think I’m going to fall for that?” Anyway she does fall for it, making her unpleasant, illogical, and stupid. Now I’m obviously being unfair, but KOS-MOS never came off to me as even a little bit caring. I understand that this changes in the third game, but I never played that far. I was such a weeaboo when I was that age and even I gave up on the series by then.

As for her PWC, she’s always in space, always busy, and is secretly Jesus’ wife or something. None of these things imply she’s going to be able to have a meaningful relationship with me.

Overall, I don’t want a relationship with my laptop, and I don’t want one with KOS-MOS either.

When I think of Touhou, I usually think of, in this order, 1. Characters who ruined my Most Powerful Fictional Character contest years ago, 2. Giant hats, and 3. The time I drew a character I played in a D&D game and everyone assumed it was a Touhou reference because she had a large hat similar to a random Touhou character’s.

I can’t quite put my finger on why, but something about Yukari’s design is very attractive. It’s definitely not the hat or frilly dress. Spoilers: most of my Top Ten wear pants, and of those who wear dresses and skirts, only one wears a frilly dress. I think it’s the hair, something about this hair is really good.

Personality-wise, Yukari is extremely lazy and sleeps all day, almost never leaving her house. She’s superhumanly smart and likes to manipulate people, so much so that her Personality blurb on the Wiki says she’s super intelligent three different time.

Her PWC is really a follow-up to her personality score. I respect intelligence a lot, but I don’t want to be constantly manipulated by someone whose mind I can’t possibly fathom because I’m a mere mortal. And it sounds like even if I can get over that, I’m going to be stuck with a waifu who never wants to do anything except lay around and sleep.

Sorry, Yukari. Maybe you can manipulate the border between being a good waifu and a bad one.

The first part makes me like her even less. I don't mind the occasional prank, but trolling people constantly is just unpleasant.

Naoto is the androgynous girl in Persona who intentionally dresses like a boy. I had some difficulties in ranking her, because 99% of her appearances would score a low Looks, but she does have a handful of occasions where she does dress more femininely and thus got a better score. It didn’t really seem fair to judge her by the exception, but in the end I decided that was the ruleset I’d been using, so she benefited a lot from this judgment.

Looks-wise, I’m not a fan of always dressing androgynously—not to imply that I want waifus to always dress in skirts or something, but always dressing like a boy to the point where it confuses people is not attractive to me. That said, I actually do kind of like short hair, and there’s nothing otherwise wrong with Naoto.

Personality-wise, I’m a bit torn. She’s serious and focused, which I don’t mind, but to the point where she’s killjoy who insists on sophistication, and even speaks in a formal, stilted manner. Also, she’s insecure about her gender to the point of binding her chest. It is cute, though, that she can be flustered by romance. All in all, her personality isn’t damning, but she seems to have a lot of problems that aren’t easily solved.

Her PWC is another matter. She doesn’t have a lot of time for romance and wants to spend all of her time being a detective. That’s a fine enough job and I’m sure she’ll be great at it, but it sounds like there’s going to be limited time for us, and when we do have time, she’s going to be formal and either reserved or easily angered at my incompetence. And yeah, I won’t lie. There are like twelve things I’m good at and nine of them are specific video games.

Overall, Naoto rides the line between bad waifu and just barely passable waifu, but she is either way not one I would ever go out of my way to waifuize
