64. Dingodile (with lyrics)
Source: Crash Bandicoot (fan song by Man on the Internet)
Villain: Dingodile
Nominator: GavsEvans123 (1 left)
Favorite lyric: "Oi you dag, what you thinkin? That I'm a psycho? Eh, fair dinkum."

https://youtu.be/7J9wKVPOC_4

Villainy: 5
Characterization: 6
Melody: 6
Total: 17/30

The biggest thing I learned from doing this list is that I just don't particularly care for Man On The Internet. There was at least 3 of his songs nominated, and for the most part I just didn't dare for them. It's a combination of the vocalist needing to try and stick to the already existing tempo and pitch of a song while also trying to match the character's voice while ALSO trying to squeeze in references to the game they're in. Of the nominations, Dingodile works by far the best. Partially because the boss track just works much nicer with lyrics than some of the others, partially because he focused more on capturing Dingodile's personality rather than trying to reference the game too much. It still suffers from the vocals though; while Dingodile's voice wasn't nearly as grating as The Snatcher's or Jevil's, it's still a very specific voice not meant for singing, and you can definitely hear the singer struggling to hit the high notes while maintaining the voice. I will however give it credit for handling Dingodile well, capturing not only his strong Australain accent but also his cocky and anarchist demeanor.

63. The Smell of Rebellion
Source: Matilda the Musical
Villain: Miss Trunchbull
Nominator: cakophon (1 left)
Favorite lyric: Their chattering and chittering / Their nattering and twittering / Is tempered with a smattering of discipline

https://youtu.be/hwkaol8LNbg

Villainy: 4
Characterization: 6
Melody: 7
Total: 17/30

I never saw Matilda the Musical but I did see the movie Matilda, and I had a lingering idea of who Miss Trunchbull going in, so I thought I knew what to expect going in. As far as the character herself, that was accurate. Trunchbull is the headmistress who just really hates children, and while that's a pretty simple concept that's appeared in TONS of kids media (Crocker in Fairly Odd Parents, Snape and Umbridge in Harry Potter, Krupp in Captain Underpants) but this song goes hard on the exceeding lengths Trunchbull will go to to be a godawful teacher. Like she REALLY, REALLY hates these kids. What I wasn't expecting was the impressive vocal talent of Trunchbull in this song, with the rapid-fire wordplay really being the main appeal of the song.

62. Goldfinger
Source: Goldfinger
Villain: Goldfinger
Nominator: paulg235 (2 left)
Favorite lyric: Golden words he will pour in your ear / But his lies can't disguise what you fear / For a golden girl knows when he's kissed her / It's the kiss of death from Mister Goldfinger

https://youtu.be/6D1nK7q2i8I

Villainy: 6
Characterization: 5
Melody: 6
Total: 17/30

Never particularly had much interest in the James Bond series, though I do admittedly like hearing the new Bond themes each time they come out. Goldfinger I'd say ranks... somewhere in the middle of them, and coincidentally that's where it ends up on this list too. It's quite fitting for a mid-point too, because Goldfinger does everything decently, despite not excelling at any one quality. The kiss of death idea is just vague enough to make Goldfinger seem very threatening without exactly making it clear what's meant by it. Does he use and discard women, favoring only wealth over love, or is he willing to kill to get his way? The mystery of the character works well for a song introducing a Bond villain, but that mystery also keeps it down in the rankings just a bit. While I hesitate to call this exactly a mid-point on the list, I do think this is roundabout where you should start to see a change, where excelling in one category and not the other two isn't enough anymore, and where songs that don't excel in any one category can't stick around much anymore.

61. I Can Change
Source: South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
Villain: Saddam Hussein
Nominator: azuarc (1 left)
Favorite lyric: It's not my fault that i'm so evil / It's society, society / You see my parents were sometimes abusive / And it made, a prick of me.

https://youtu.be/40wh9cxloqw

Villainy: 5
Characterization: 5
Melody: 7
Total: 17/30

Yeah, it feels kinda weird only giving Saddam Hussein of all people a 5 for villainy, but here we are. South Park villains aren't really meant to be taken seriously, and Hussein is probably one of the best examples of this. He's evil, but more importantly, he's a dick to his boyfriend Satan. It portrays Hussein primarily as a stereotypical abusive partner who comes begging for forgiveness, insisting they'll change when Satan and the audience both know better. It's ridiculous and admittedly kind of fun. The song itself is a nice little romp that sounds like it belongs in a Disney movie (aside from the "dirty little bastard" stuff).

60. The World's Greatest Criminal Mind

Villain: Ratigan
Nominator: BetrayedTangy (1 left)
Favorite lyric: Worse than the widows and orphans you drowned? / You're the best of the worst around!

https://youtu.be/QP8QdFttugg

Villainy: 9
Characterization: 5
Melody: 3
Total: 17/30

Can't say I was a huge fan of this song most of the way through. Ratigan's vocals just seem... odd. Like he rolls too many words in a single line and it's just kind of obnoxious. His gang singing isn't better; the "Oh Ratigans" are catchy enough in their simplicity but a step down from something like a pirate sea shanty that has a similar style but better sound. What the song lacks in musical style, it makes up for in a brutal goddamn display of how evil Ratigan really is. It's not often you hear the villain in a kid's movie bragging about drowning orphans. But then one of his gang drunkenly refers to him as a rat instead of a mouse, and as punishment he has the mouse eaten alive. Holy fuck, dude.

Miss Baltimore Crabs - Those poor runner-ups might still hold some grudges, they padded their cups but I screwed the judges.

Sweet Transvestite - I'm not much of a man by the light of day; but by night I'm one hell of a lover.

Just Monika - She's depressed, and stressed, and feeling blue, so I don't want Sayori hanging around you.

Ok these might just be my favorite lines. :p

59. What's the Use of Feeling (Blue)?

Villain: Yellow Diamond
Nominator: sergiocornaga (ELIMINATED)
Favorite lyric: Why would you want to be here? / What do you ever see here that doesn't make you feel worse than you do?

It's stuff like this that really makes me want to go try to get into Steven Universe. I hear excellent things about the show, and while I watched like the first episode or two, it didn't exactly grab me, though I get the feeling it's one of those shows that really hits its stride as it goes on and gets the chance to develop the lore. That's exactly what grabs me with this song. Despite having no idea who these giant women are, the song is immediately able to clue me into how they're feeling. Blue Diamond's depression is obvious, but Yellow Diamond's struggle to maintain an apathetic sense of structure and order despite similarly dealing with the overwhelming sense of loss of their close friend/family member/partner (don't know the relationship of these people aside from the fact that they're "Diamonds). It's touching, but at the same time hardly villainous given that's it's basically a misguided pep talk. The song itself is pleasant; the vocals are nice (though the high pitch backups didn't do much for me) and it's brief but a pleasant little ballad that I feel like would hit me harder if I knew the context.

Rest in peace Stefn Karl Stefnsson, you magnificent man. God this song is a bop. It's not hard to see why this song became so huge on the internet; it is one of the catchiest songs to be released in the last decade. The vocals might not have crazy range, and it might be more goofy than anything, but I'll be damned if I can listen to this without hearing that trombone playing on loop the rest of the day. As much as I do truly love this song, this is unfortunately as far as I can take it. Robbie Rotten isn't evil, and if this song proves anything, it's that he barely understands how to be a villain. He's a just a nonsensical goofball with a knack for getting in trouble, and that's what we love most about him.

A famous line from episodes before this from Yellow, I want that planet to die. Im not sure how it sounds without context but in the show its clear Yellow wants to put the past behind them by destroying the Earth just so she doesnt have to think about their other sisters death anymore and so they can get back to work to their true purpose as a Diamond which is leading which means conquering worlds and enforcing the strict Gem caste system where everything is in its place and they arent allowed to stray from what they were made for (a Lapis terraforms, an Agate terrifies).

58. Up There
Source: South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
Villain: Satan
Nominator: GavsEvans123 (ELIMINATED)
Favorite lyric: Everyone dreams, I can dream too, up there / Up where the skies are ocean blue, I could be safe and live without a care

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo4XXm8OUP4

Villainy: 2
Characterization: 6
Melody: 9
Total: 17/30

Just gonna say it, Up There is the best song in South Park: BL&U. This is the classic musical trope (especially in Disney movies) of the hero being trapped and desperately wanting to live a normal life with everyone else. Think Out There from Hunchback of Notre Dame or Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid or When Will My Life Begin from Tangled. The twist is obviously that it's NOT the hero, it's Satan who wants nothing more than to leave Hell and join the humans on Earth. Trey Parker's Satan has always been one of my favorite recurring characters on South Park due to just how friendly and senstitive he is. Calling him the villain of this is a stretch, because ultimately it's Hussein that ends up pulling all the strings, and that's what keeps this from doing better. Still nice to get a surprising hearfelt glimpse into Satan's emotional state, with some fun vocals to top it off.

56. Devil Went Down to Georgia
Source: Charlie Daniels Band
Villain: The Devil
Nominator: Great Paul (3 left)
Favorite lyric: The devil opened up his case and he said, "I'll start this show." / And fire flew from his fingertips as he rosined up his bow

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBjPAqmnvGA

Villainy: 2
Characterization: 5
Melody: 10
Total: 17/30

This was an easy 10/10 purely as a song. Devil Went Down to Georgia is an undeniable classic, and it wouldn't be a stretch to call it the all-time best bluegrass song. It's fast-paced, lyrically fluid, endlessly memorable, and just never gets old. I've got so many good memories of this song; hearing it sung by the pastor at my mom's church, beating Lou in Guitar Hero 3, and every single time I hear it I enjoy it. Ranking it as a villain song is a little tougher, because while ideally it's a song about the Devil trying to steal a man's soul... he never really does that, does he? There is no stealing going on whatsoever. Kinda funny this ends up being the second song in a row where Satan is portrayed as really not a bad guy. He needs souls, he makes a clear, well laid out offer to Johnny, Johnny willingly accepts, and when the devil loses, he accepts the loss and holds up his end of the bargain. He's really just an excellent sport about the whole thing.

55. IT Is The End
Source: Ice Nine Kills
Villain: Pennywise the Dancing Clown
Nominator: Bane (2 left)
Favorite lyric: You know what makes me smile? / Devoured juveniles / Their innards tangled in my twisted grin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8dMnYvECkI

Villainy: 10
Characterization: 6
Melody: 2
Total: 18/30

I've really never cared for Ice Nine Fucking Kills. Had some friends that were real into them back in high school, ended up going to one of their local shows, and they just weren't good. As the years have gone by, that opinions never really changed. Their music is aggressively mediocre. Again, that's partly due to me just really not caring for metalcore as a genre, particularly metalcore of the 2010s. It saddens me to, as I ideally like what they did with the album, each track being based on a different horror film. I'm a sucker for concept albums, and by another band I might like this, though the lyrics are hit or miss for me too. Puns like "I've got some big fucking shoes to fill" and "I'm not clowning around" make it feel kind of shallow, despite it overall doing a good job at capturing the sense of the character. Villainy-wise, I don't think I have to explain myself. Putting this at any less than a 10 there would be a blatant lie, and that's largely what ends up placing this song so high in the ranking.

54. The Poison Woman
Source: The Dear Hunter
Villain: The Poison Woman
Nominator: TheArkOfTurus (3 left)
Favorite lyric: She never dwells on penitence / Advancing in a haze / Besides the fast of incompetence

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB3AGeXQrfQ

Villainy: 8
Characterization: 6
Melody: 4
Total: 18/30

Hey remember that thing I said way way back about how I'm a sucker for concept albums? Yeah, that still applies. This isn't the first or last song on this ranking to make me curious about the greater album it came from, though in this case I kind of feel like I stumbled in on the middle of something I wasn't quite appropriately contexted for? Part of that is the result for reading the lyrics on Genius, where people have given full detailed descriptions of how this song is about how The Poison Woman actually has a change of heart in the end, deciding to not poison the album's main protagonist and instead supply him with poison should the war they're in be too much for him. And I've gotta say, even after reading through these lyrics over and over, I'm not seeing it? I mean she implores him to "take this bottle," but I'm not seeing anything suggesting she's supplying him with poison for his own purposes rather than just giving him a poison drink like she has to countless others. So while the characterization is nice, it definitely feels like it requires more from the album itself that the song doesn't quite give you. I'm also not quite able to give her full points for her villainy, because while she has killed "a million men" (which feels like a huge exaggeration) she doesn't seem to do it out of malice, and there's a certain sadness about her. Maybe I'm overthinking, or maybe I'm underthinking, but the song ultimately just doesn't strike a hard enough cord for me to top off any category.

It's the third in a series of five albums (although a sixth one is planned,) so stumbling in on the middle is pretty accurate! This is the only song the poison woman shows up in, though. The only thing missing contextually is the line "I knew I kept this for a reason" in a later song in which he decides to kill his father. Their lyrical style can be vague at times.

53. (The Legend of) Miss Baltimore Crabs
Source: Hairspray
Villain: Velma Von Tussle
Nominator: Raka Putra (2 left)
Favorite lyric: Those poor runner-ups might still hold some grudges / They padded their cups, but I screwed the judges

Villainy: 5
Characterization: 8
Melody: 5
Total: 18/30

You know, Hairspray has just never appealed to me. Maybe it was the fact that I was first introduced to it via the 2007 movie, starring John Travolta, who I've never been a fan of. Maybe it was the fact that I just really wasn't into musicals at the time it was introduced to me. Maybe it's the fact that a story centered primarily around trying to promote integration has all of like 3 named black characters (given the names Lil' Inez and Seaweed compared to the white cast, named Tracy, Edna, Velma, Penny, etc.).

ANWYWAY this song is pretty decent. Michelle Pfeiffer definitely does a decent job here, though that's part of my problem with it. Anytime the song cuts away from Pfeiffer to the other cast members sing-talking in the middle of the song, it comes across as kind of awkward. Velma is of course a racist asshole, which doesn't put her near Pennywise's level, but she's certainly just a very unpleasant and nasty person. The main pleasant surprise here was the way the song goes a little deeper into Velma's character. Yes, she's nasty and racist, but she's also obsessed with her past and how great she used to be, which definitely adds another layer onto her refusal to see the world progress.

Aww, it's out.

I was kinda torn about which version to nominate but since I didn't particularly prefer one over the others, I just picked this one.

Yeah Hairspray isn't really my favorite as well but it's got some good, catchy numbers.

An Indonesian theater company actually produced it last December which was just in time since the (white) creators finally said that they won't allow all-white productions anymore. Well, the Indonesian cast were Asians but there were no black people there.

52. Toxic Love
Source: Ferngully
Villain: Hexxus
Nominator: Justin2Krelian (ELIMINATED)
Favorite lyric: I feel good, a special kind of horny / Flowers and trees depress and frankly bore me

Melody: 6

I'm never going to be the guy to deny Tim Curry's ability to dominate a scene, whether it's live action or animated. Hexxus is essentially the embodiment of pollution and destruction of nature, and this song does an overall damn good job at expressing it. Hexxus sings almost seductively, juxtaposed against the fact that he's a disgusting gas cloud. While he doesn't seem to have any sort of real malice, his main goal is basically just to spread destruction however he can, and he embraces the willingness of humans to destroy their own environments for personal game. I can't quite give it full points for anything. The melody is a little one-note beyond Tim Curry's vocals and while it does a decent job expressing its concept, it's still a pretty simple concept.

Ok, I'll level with you here. I read through the (rough) translations of the lyrics. I read through the wiki, I've tried to grasp what exactly is happening here, but half the words are made up for the game or whatever and I don't know what a Reyvateil is or what an SH Server is or what the Cosmography of Ar Ru is and half a dozen other concepts necessary to knowing what all of this MEANS. As such, I can't give it many villainy points because I don't what exactly is being done. I was able to grasp from the wiki that the girl singing this was kind of being forced to, and while the explanation of what's happening is hard to understand, the emotion behind it isn't. Richaryosha's sadness and regret come across powerfully here. I mean just look at the lines "...my feelings are gone" and "Because I wish to live and so I don't lose my place in the world, I'll fall into madness..." and "My heartbeats fade away in this journey from which I can never return or go back. Goodbye, loneliness..." This is either the saddest song ever written or my high school diary, but either way, I feel like I understand Richaryosha's perspective startlingly well for a situation that I understand so little of.

Oh, and the song's a banger.

Wow. I literally just remembered this ranking from weeks ago and wanted to check it out... 23 minutes after my nom was posted.

Only other comment I was going to make was about One Winged Angel... as that's one of my favorite music pieces in general so I'd rank it higher, but Toxic Love might be fair depending on what comes next.
