I hear excellent things about the show, and while I watched like the first episode or two, it didn't exactly grab me, though I get the feeling it's one of those shows that really hits its stride as it goes on and gets the chance to develop the lore. That's exactly what grabs me with this song. Despite having no idea who these giant women are, the song is immediately able to clue me into how they're feeling. Blue Diamond's depression is obvious, but Yellow Diamond's struggle to maintain an apathetic sense of structure and order despite similarly dealing with the overwhelming sense of loss of their close friend/family member/partner (don't know the relationship of these people aside from the fact that they're "Diamonds). It's touching, but at the same time hardly villainous given that's it's basically a misguided pep talk.
