Not a fan, personally. It feels like it's trying to be Tactics Ogre but some of the mechanics are just poorly explained or executed and usually results in me with a relatively stationary backline of folks and frontline of people frantically charging their snipers.

Might've improved since then; this was the one for the 3DS.

iirc, pretty much everyone has something Stealable unless you've seen them use the Item in combat already.

Recruiting at higher level locks in growth within that class. Mixed blessing; tbh I tended to ignore growths and just focus on mixing up job combos to get the builds I wanted.

And yes, not-moving or not-acting is CT retention and makes for a faster subsequent turn.

the levels are pretty minor; the bigger thing is just getting a grip on the controls and mechanics, or learning about mob attack patterns and locations. Getting a little more Str and a good shield, or lifting ability and stamina for quick and repeatable rolling also make a pretty big difference.
