How is your view on coming out for your partner?

Depends. I don't want to be a dirty secret. I'd like to go OUT on dates and have shared experiences together. I'd like to bring him over to hang out with my family/friends and all their events. If he's scared to even go into a gay bar for fear of being outed, that's too much for me.

If he's a little averse to PDA, I could roll with that. I personally like hand on the thigh or knees touching while sitting. Or a kiss goodnight. I don't want him looking over his shoulder while we're outside of either of our private homes.

If he's not out to his family? I could respect that, but I'm out with mine and he's invited over for christmas and shit.

What are the basic mechanics of playing D&D and what makes it fun?

The fun is generally derived from one of the following aspects:

- tactical, combative gameplay. Think Final Fantasy Tactics or a CRPG like Baldur's Gate. You control a single unit with a personality, stats, HP, and abilities. The Dungeon Master will throw enemy units at you in a given arena. Its turn based combat involving dice and robust battle mechanics.

- noncombat encounters are dealt with roleplaying and skill checks. There's an NPC or environmental hazard or something that presents a difficulty to go through. It's up to you and your party to use the tools you have and your skill proficiencies to solve the riddle, get through with minimal harm, by getting the NPC to think you're a swell, awesome guy, or whatever Creativity is rewarded.

Just listen to a DnD podcast and do a lot of skipping around, listening to 1 or 2 minute segments. It's not for everyone and it's very reliant on a decent DM to narrate and create the world for the adventurers to run amok through.

Not really. Trophic levels are a bitch. Animal food has to come from somewhere. You can get 10 acres of corn to produce one acre of cow... or you can just eat the corn directly and spare not only the cow but 90% of the cow food.

(Granted, many cows eat grass and humans cannot eat grass, so that's about the only time when it's ideal to eat cow instead of cow food directly)
