The trailers, the music, this mode. Super memorable to casuals (me) in a way that 4 and U don't come close. I understand disliking the cutscenes and platforming parts, but the Kirby style exploration section at the end was brilliant enough on its own. Really impressive how they incorporated both genre's mechanics and made it more than the sum of its parts. I do prefer Necrodancer for its roguelike repetitiveness myself. I honestly thought CoH was harder than Necrodancer though. The movements are so complex. There's diagonal movers, the spear guys, shields, all in the first few screens. The only 2 characters I've wished are Noelle and Xiangling and I haven't used either much. I do like Xiangling but I need an archer so Amber is staying in until I get another.
