Just read the clocks writeup, you should definitely send that to the creator. As someone who likes and makes experimental games, I kinda love everything that you described. It sounds legit playful, on a much deeper level than most.

I've worked on 48 hour game jams with a team of like 8. Everyone does a small amount for a small game but you still put everyone in the credits.

That art is crazy good for 1-bit

I started with the netflix seasons which started with Cagayan and a couple other ones that everyone says to watch first (All Star with Parvati maybe?). They took those down for some reason though.

I kinda like the 41+ seasons and the pre-20 seasons more than those 20-40 seasons. The new ones have such different gameplay that is more mechanical like mafia, and the old ones are so high budget and wild to watch.

I was shocked that Rupert, Sandra, and Johnny were all in the same season and the same team too

The other characters are absolute ass so far tho

They added Pearl Islands to Netflix. It's so different with such epic challenges. I really wish they could do even just 1 unique challenge like the village bargaining in the new seasons. But I'm glad the show has dropped the bodily torture aspect tbh.

Any time after you beat a run with a character, you unlock Ascension, which is difficulty that builds on itself. There's 20 ascension levels for each character, which is effectively about 80 difficulties in the game. My highest is Ironclad at Ascension 18 and my lowest is Defect at Ascension 5.

What does it do exactly?

I only beat 1 run with each character (1st try for all chars except Ironclad and the poison one) but I don't remember anything special being revealed. Or is it only after you slay the spire not just complete a run? Like Kirb I def never felt compelled to really play more times.

The game opens with a training temple giving you three of the world's easiest Sokoban puzzles. These are never mentioned again. What was I training for? The game introduces crank puzzles which are quite literally the word "CRANK" being written on the floor and then you use the crank. Halfway through it ditches puzzles entirely and starts doing combat

This sounds hilarious actually. Clearly Undertale inspired.

Finally watched it, good editing and such but so few surprises. I did think Austin would only get like 1 vote so that was a bit surprising. Good season overall, hope it's mostly the same but with better gameplay next season.

She's objectively the best player this season, so it would kinda he bad for her not to win, to the extent that you respect the show as a game. The rest of the season was entertaining enough that I don't care too much about who wins at this point. The edit does make it feel like a total toss up now (sans Austin)

This should be the biggest advertisement of the game. So few metroidlike game have the guts to do this and handhold you everywhere instead. It's why Yoku is easily in the top echelon.

This really. And the gameplay itself isn't great outside a couple cool bosses. Cave Story is ridiculously more fun and good.

Saying keep playing with a souls game seems legitimate though. They're not really my cup of tea but hardly any of the system can be explored in 2 hours.

The derivative ones don't have anything to explore, since you've essentially played them already. Real souls games do need some time, which is why their first few levels are always super gripping.

I don't get the strategies in this episode. Rebas said that playing the idol could come back to bite them, but how? Isn't this exactly how you should play the idol? Lightning rod all the votes on you, play it, then pick who leaves. Is it just about jury management? People like big moves so I don't think that's it either.

And then, there were 5 people planning to vote Julie. Why didn't Emily try to 2 votes on Dee or someone else to protect against the idol? It would've at least tied things up, and in the case where Dee also voted Julie, it would've saved Emily.

It seems they decided very quickly that Emily was out and the Reba alliance would remain, but the editing tried to make it seem more dramatic.

But it's also clear now that Austin is the goat here and he knows it. He had to tattle to Dee not just because of his dick, but because it's his only chance of getting to F3. 3rd place is still a good amount of money.

Didn't realize this, I'll def have to play it then. Sounds like a playable album.

It's true that Cuphead probably had more funding than Senua, but it's still weird to call it indie.

I also wish I could've gotten into Senua more. Was way too slow for me.

I got to the last level of Celeste, saw that it required me to go back and collect everything from previous levels, said "lol nope," and watched the level and ending on youtube.

I did that at the 2nd gate in chapter 9 but then found out you could skip it with a special technique so I did that to continue. Absolutely genius to put that in there.

I should really try a souls DLC at some point. Haven't tried any except Artorias many years late, and that was just ok.

The editing especially with the 90 min episodes has helped a ton this season too. If things start to shake up next episode due to rebas getting nervous then it could end up being a really strong season overall. But if it ends with reba as final 4 I don't think I can really say it was too great.

Worms Armageddon is pure genius. But there's also nothing indie about that series.

Yup, spoiled is always better than nothing in puzzle games. But it's hard to know if you're just frustrated enough to fight through and get a great feeling of accomplishment, or so frustrated that you'll quit the game

More than an hour. Not the 53 you spent on ToS, but just because you wasted 53 hours on a game you didn't like doesn't invalidate people who spent 52 on something else.

Well I've played the game and I know it's 2 hours max before you realize it's Myst-like. So it's nothing like ToS.

Also I'd say 90%+ of Outer Wilds fans don't like Myst.

Bruce is so bad, can't believe he lasted this long and blew it so hard. Emily et al played him really well, but this is literally the situation you've been waiting to use your idol.

Like I said before though, post merge has and will continue to be pretty boring and straight forward. The Kellie blindside was super strong but even that didn't change the game in the slightest. Reba 4 keep steamrolling and no one cares.
