I'm guessing by how much praise it gets, that the episodes get better? But I find that a bit hard to believe considering how short they are.

The episodes are super varied, so eventually a couple hit you, and then you get it.

But also, the show is almost entirely for parents. I would say like 70% for parents, 20% for kids, 10% for animation nerds. I don't really get watching it otherwise. To be fair I did watch Friendship is Magic as an adult. But that's just a nice slice of life comedy cartoon, while this is a series of brutal parenting lessons. Many episodes aren't even comedic. I guess if you have unresolved childhood trauma it would also apply, and who doesn't.

Also among my friends with kids, about half of them didn't get into the show at all. Whereas 100% of kids are into actual kid shit like Cocomelon and Paw Patrol (god that show sucks)

I only just watched Daddy Dropoff, and yeah that one is straight up terrorism. It's like the inverse of the tarantula Breaking Bad episode, but set up and delivered in 7 minutes. Absolute megaton.

My favorite by far though is Copycat, though no one really talks about it. I get the appeal of the most popular ones like Camping and Sleepytime, but they don't really have the parent-seeking-missile effect that the subtler episodes have.

I almost feel like the game is maybe a little too stylized for my tastes. The new trailer is like one big visual assault. The actual gameplay segments of the stream were more palatable, though, so I'll probably be fine with it overall.

This is how Persona 5 was when it was revealed, and now it looks kinda normal cuz we're used to it

What I've found in my previous mafia bot attempts though is that mafia is much more complicated than 1 vote per user. You can limit it to that, but much of the fun is when the rules are broken, and b8 does that often.

Although DBs are where I am most unfamiliar so if you have a different one you're used to working with could go with that.

My plan for the weekend is to try to throw together a retro forum frontend and see how far that gets. Should be able to recreate the classic GFaqs look with added mobile support (my day job is apps these days so I feel like I can't skip that part!)

Won't be using it aside from testing unless this place goes down, and another backup may still be a better choice.

It really does a lot that gfaqs does. It's just kinda meh overall in every way, so it's not a very exciting prospect. But the features are decent.

My smothering strategy worked in the round I won. I got lucky that she didn't play certain cards though.

Shadowblood Queen QB match was amazing. It was legit difficult after a bunch of really easy matches. It required you to use your cheesiest strat, and even then you have to get lucky. And the narrative design of the cards was perfect.

slow mode (only 1 post per user per minute)

We should try the forum mode on there. I feel like even if 100% of b8ers went on the discord, there would still be a pretty clear divide between chatters and forumers since the culture is so different. But also a good amount of overlap, so it would be worth it overall.

Though there's something about the 500 post limit and purged topic format that just feels more comfortable though. I could make a bot that simulates that on discord.

They schedule polls very far in advance. If it's blank now, I wonder when Toast actually stopped maintaining it.

Nope. You guys don't realize that the goal of this policy is to reduce overall site activity and moderation labor required for gfaqs. Any solution you propose must help Fandom in that sense.

I think a great option would be to trust the volunteer moderators to handle this stuff for their own community (and if places like CE can't, then sure ban them). Then no labor is required. But clearly Fandom doesn't trust the community mods.

The problem with this policy is the idea that CE is full of politics-spewing robots, and the Overwatch board is full of Overwatch-discussing robots, and B8 is full of contest-discussing robots. It doesn't recognize the actual people that make up this forum and the reasons they choose to hang out here and not on twitter, reddit, etc

LD also has an Extra category which lasts until the end of the 3 week voting process. You can upload any time during that period, and other people will still give feedback on your game as long as you give out votes and comments too. I don't think you get a # ranking at the end, but the feedback is the most important part

Discord is good at what it is, but it's not a message board and would be a terrible replacement.

There is a message board mode that works basically the same as here. But it has different quirks than what we are used to here. Still, it's a good option.
