It's the opposite! He wins without using anything at all he learned by mastering the elements! He was getting wrecked and spent the whole fight running away, then used (at best) the training he received in one episode to win the battle, and then used the training he received in one other episode to win the war. Kid would've done better in that fight had he done nothing in the series but meet the guru. The ending was such a disappointing cop-out

That would be true if Avatar Aang was the Avatar State taking over Aang's body. I can see how it looks like that but it's not. It's Aang using his own mastery of the Avatar State and his own mastery of the elements.

I like how Ozai isn't just a mindless powerhouse too. He uses firebending and the comet's power in interesting ways, and even just intimidates Aang verbally in a way that feels really well earned. Aang was preparing all year for this fight but so was he.

If the Fire Lord is subordinated to a new type of king, then it's way less meaningful than it was before.

She's 2nd in command. In the new world there would be no Earth King either, so it's an upgrade either way. Also when Ozai dies she becomes Phoenix King.

There's really nothing backhanded about the position Ozai gave her. It's just that her biggest fear is being alone. She's not ready to be a ruler, but Ozai didn't care about that.

I think on first watch it felt too fast but on rewatch there is plenty that builds up to it. Boiling Rock 2 being the main turn around.

When she is given the position of fire Lord she does deteriorate a bit too fast in that one episode, but I like that as a representation of the damage Ozai can do even to the child that he likes. She's a victim there too.

I really wish I could recommend it to non-gamer and casual gamer friends, but the game mechanics and methods of progression are really complex.

I dunno. I think the mechanics are quite simple (move and jump). The puzzles are all environmental and intellectual. There's no twitch or skill involved, until the end. The first person perspective might be confusing. But I would still recommend it more than other games.

Uh, the time loop was not meant to be a secret at all. It was part of the game's marketing.

Lots of things are spoiled in marketing. Doesn't mean it's not better to go in blind. I knew from the beta version a long time ago but I knew very little about else.

BCS is a character study, it's even in the name. BB is too, but it's clearly plot driven with an end that you could see seasons away. BCS masterfully uses the negative space of its prequel non-plot in the same way. You want to see anything BUT the end because you already know it. There's just so much more in the mundane.

If I wanted to play a carbon copy of the original, I would have just played the original.

The counterpoint to this is that this game showed how awesome a copy or near-copy-with-upgrades (like Wall Market) can be. It's not just a choice between lego PS1 graphics and nice modern graphics, but a totally new and refined experience that the original just cannot match at all.

So when it the crazy twists come in this game, it doesn't make people worry about ruining the PS1 game, but about ruining what this game and the future parts could have been if they just stayed pure.

I am personally optimistic about how they will handle the next parts, after seeing how masterfully they changed things here. But I can't argue against the fear that the future games are ruined.

Because an origami style Paper Mario puzzle adventure sounds amazing. Doesn't matter if the combat is boring if you don't spend much time on it.

Combat in 1 was better because it was totally Metroid. It's rare for a game to actually understand that being able to attack while moving is core to the awesome feel of Metroid. But they ruined it in 2.Timespinner does it though.

I liked it a lot because the combination of the awesome presentation, and abilities like Bash made it feel so magical. I played it a second time and it felt really dry and limited. I played all of Ori 2 too and from the beginning it felt pretty dry. Not sure if I changed, or if it really was just the novelty of the first play through that I liked.

I went to my climbing gym last week. It's masks 100% of the time, and I did not see anyone disobeying. There's a weights/cardio section too but it had like 2 people max. If you're going there it's for the climbing so that makes sense. Can't use bathrooms/changing rooms though.

It makes sense though, if the people whose identity is defined by being racist (and thus are deemed conservative even though they're absolutely not) are just trolling, then they can always just say they're joking. The non-troll is the only one who actually takes ownership of the racism.

The one line that seems so out of place in this game is when Aerith says "Since I am so generous" when talking about giving herbs to the orphanage.

She's a god damn 1%er with a mansion and massive garden. It shows how her cuteness comes from her power and status more than her own self.

I definithad a lull in BB S3 also first time watching. Second time though it was great. So many pivotal and subtle moments happen there that carry through the rest of the series.

Which reminds me, not only is BCS better than BB, watching BB a second time is better than BB the first time. Give it a few months or a year before you do it but man it's like a whole different show.
