Yea, graveyard keeper was a very fun game to just dive into for a while, and then never touch again. Kinda weird how can a mediocre game disregard its quality/polish and be so addicting/satisfying.

Two more games of a similar vein I recommend are littlewood and forager.

Last JRPG I played was Bravely Default. Was fun. Do recommend. Though, the difficulty of the game swung a lot by design. (not real spoilers, but spoiler tagged if you enjoy exploring game mechanics on your own). You access game/balance breaking stuff (not quite broken, but breaks the game's tempo of increasing difficulty), you cruise on it for a little, and the game throws some hard shit at you.

Well, it was more like at a few points in the game, you find ways to deal way more damage than usual, so trash mobs become super easy, and you don't have to worry about defense/survival, but then either 1: you'll find a trash mob that you can't dunk, and it dunks you because you don't have any survival/defense, and you learn how to not get dunked and it's easy again. OR 2: you'll encounter a boss that makes surviving really hard, and you have to rework everything to survive and balance offense.

Yea, the diplomacy was pretty fun in the first half of a campaign because it was very necessary. I liked how uneasy it felt having so much border that can't be militarily defended feasibly early in the game.

In my current campaign playing an expansion, rise of the samurai, I triggered realm divide, loaded the turn before, and spent like 25 turns pumping my economy. I really didn't like the constant financial issues from my first campaign when fielding units during realm divide, so this felt so much better. The expansion, it's pretty cool because it's practically the same game, but feels very fresh to play because of how almost every game mechanic was tweaked.

Sugar and milk is for Masala chai, or bad tea. Sugar masks the flavors of tea, and so does flavoring. Milk redefines the flavor of tea into something else, which I find less than ideal unless it's masala chai.

I don't think season 1 is considered a weak part of the story. There are interesting elements there in its own right that receive much less of a focus later.

I like it enough to read it all, and to keep reading. I kinda don't know how I want to say things about Tower of God. The work is a cornucopia, and ambitious. Its got so much stuff, that the stuff that's good is bogged down in a way by the stuff that's not as good, but the stuff's that's not good is easily choked out by the better things. (think warmup bands vs the main attraction).

It's like, open worldish games where there's plenty of things besides the main quest that add detail. Both don't do well without the other. But in the case of this work, it's intermingled.

Another metaphor, it's like a museum of something you find interesting. You're not going to find everything interesting. You'll find things that are interesting that you never thought about. You're going to try to take a look at everything because you don't know how interesting it'll be to you. You can speed through the things you don't find interesting. (But in this case, you can't).

IX - Very adventure. Tries to be more traditional. pretty good combat

VIII - Wack, decisive, but still good. Would recommend if you'd like min-max to break game systems, and value character development.

So I watched the first 3 episodes of Tower of God, and it was very mediocre. Adequate retelling. Most of it feels like going through the motions, and the stuff that isn't, the creative liberties didn't really add anything of value. Elements where the anime can shine with its medium (voiceacting, music, animation), don't feel impactful. I'll finish this because I enjoy the source material, and I'm still interested to see how they'll utilize the medium (There's still plenty of opportunities to do so). Go read the manwha if you want a better experience.

Which reminds me, I haven't seen much anime where I've experienced the source material first. I guess I just wanna say a good adaptation is hard to come by.
