Temporarily laid off. The bakery's continuing to operate with just the owners producing stuff for contact-free deliveries and curbside pickup, which is keeping a decent amount of revenue flowing that should help ensure that they're still there when all of this has passed. I'm glad, both because that means I'll have a job to go back to and also because I just really like the place and want to see them do well.

Temporarily laid off, due to all the virus closings. :( I'm kinda divided if I should apply to do Uber Eats deliveries, or some other sort of gig job like Instacart(for grocery stores)? Mind you I'm NOT considering actual Uber driving where I handled transporting passengers, thank goodness. I'd also want to know if such gig services were allowing you to drop off orders outside the entrances of residences, without having to wait to get a signature from that customer that you dropped it off.

Has anyone worked for(or may still do, I don't know) Uber Eats or a service like Instacart, and can tell me what their thoughts of doing such a job was like?

Still having to go to work, with an extra $2 an hour "appreciation pay." We seem to be adding another measure every one or two weeks to flatten the curve as much as possible while still providing for our customers.

Honestly, an effective measure we haven't been taking is telling customers that if they're an entire family coming in, such as two or more adults with however many kids that are old enough to be hoe alone for a couple hours, then only one adult needs to be present in the store, rather than the whole damn family. Would enforcing this be an easy task? Probably not. Would it cut down on the large groups that still come in? Maybe. I can understand a single parent with their two kids, but not two or three parents with their soccer van full of kids; stay home.

Was about to start going to a new job, but then this happened. So I'm employed, but may as well not be, with the only exception being that I have a guaranteed job just as soon as things start opening up again.

My car died a month ago (I deliver pizza, so its kind of neccessary), then this started escalating so I just stayed home rather than getting a new one and going back to work. Filed for unemployment not too long ago. Between what I already had, my tax refund and the $1200, I should be fine. If the state and federal unemployment come through I'll be better off than I would have working. Got a message yesterday saying I'm elligible, so hopefully I should start seeing the money from that soon.

4/10s is such a sick work schedule. The 3 day weekends every week make a big difference. When I wasn't getting overtime I worked 4/10s all last year

I took a layoff a month ago but yesterday I got told to come back in for Monday morning. Working 2 weeks on, 1 week off but I have to sleep at the plant for those two weeks because they don't want people leaving and coming back in daily. Doesn't make much sense but whatever. Theyre playing me $6/h extra for the inconvenience but no covid bonus pay but I don't think I'm necessarily essential service

I'm still working. But my partner has been out all week. He texted me this afternoon to let me know he tested positive. I've been working near this guy every day. He's been wearing a mask for awhile and we sit at opposite ends of a table. But still, I'm a little concerned.
