As far as recommendations, I mean, practically all I drink is black tea, so I could only suggest more black tea. And cheap is subjective. Bottom shelf grocery store, you can get a pound of black tea for like $5, meanwhile same grocery store, get price gouged on $5 box of herbal tea for an ounce. I noticed some slight similarities to assam when trying to be perceptive. I've lumped it as Darjeeling-like, having light and floral flavors as it's main feature. I've noticed today that it does bear some similarity with my favored Yunnan (Rich, honey-like flavor), but it's light enough that you can taste other flavors. However, on the 2nd brewing, its lighter body goes well with its natural flavors, and it's like a whole different tea. The 2nd brewing with my favored yunnan tea doesn't hold up as well. --- Your palace may last forever, but my yurt can go anywhere. |

I use a premade mix that has typical CTC black tea and no flavorings, and I made it by boiling water+mix, and reboiling after adding milk. --- Your palace may last forever, but my yurt can go anywhere. |
